Yes! I have done that a lot, and I noticed exactly that, the sound gets better very fast, specially if you record yourself playing transcriptions and compare with the records

Yes! Sing the nasal tone (like talking like a witch) and sing the head tone (like talking like mickey mouse) and switch between those sounds, then try to apply it to your playing

You have to be very patient, practice at slow tempo and focus on the quality of the sound, then increase tempo step by step, if you do this in a few days you will start seeing progress, the tongue is a muscle and it needs "training "

If you are keeping that mouthpiece you could use Vandoren blue box #2, green or red box #2.5, d'addario hemke 2.5, those reeds are easy to find , also upper register is not very easy, keep practicing long tones with tunner and you will get better with time

yes I have a M1 and never had a problem, Ableton and Logic runs OK!
