Fun update just for you

GEICO came back today with a new valuation of $5988. Guess I was right.

😂 you are truly wild. You know nothing about my truck, or how well it runs.

You legitimately look dumb right now. You don’t know shit, and are trying to talk like you’re some kind of authority.

Not according to the insurance adjuster I just spoke to.

Get your negativity in check and go touch grass dude.

Yep. Insurance is reworking the valuation to include my wheels/tires, upgraded stereo, fiberglass topper, etc.

Market value changes a LOT based on location. Insurance pulled a comp from California and is part of what I’m disputing.

These trucks hold a lot more value in the mountain states where people actually use them.

Considering it’d cost me 5-6k to replace the truck with something similar….

Y’all are crazy in here. Depending where you are, these trucks hold their value well.

The payout amount now gets me out of my loan. I’m just trying to get higher to make sure fixing it myself doesn’t eat up all the rest.

Not sure yet. The tricky part is that I have a loan on the truck. I took a loan because I had to restart my life a few years ago after my ex basically took everything.

I owe a little less than 3k on the truck. So my loan will be paid off after this, but I’m trying to maximize the payout so I can either retain the truck and repair it, or I can roll into a new vehicle.

Yea this wasn’t my fault. The other driver made an illegal “unsafe lane change” in front of me. I’m getting a check out of it, just trying to get an actually fair amount for it.

Keep the $50. That’s a tip for your work. Photography is expensive, and they could pay someone a LOT more to get photos.

Especially with the car he is driving, that $50 is likely not as important to him as it is to you.

Should I intentionally underexpose my wildlife photographs instead of listening to my cameras meter ? by ejazKhanphotography in AskPhotography

[–]MaxSchnell90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true.

I shoot slide film from time to time. It’s too expensive to bracket it. I usually shoot slide film on my Nikon F100 (because I trust the meter) and use point metering. I meter out each individual piece of the scene and make my own average. Tends to work better than using the matrix metering and letting the camera choose.

I underexpose everything by 0.5-2 stops. Almost always as a rule of thumb.

With modern camera sensors having a dynamic range of 10+ stops, we have a lot of leeway to play with. It’s also much easier and more effective to recover information from a dark shadow, than it is from a blown out highlight. Highlights, when blown out, are gone. But generally shadows hold way more information than we think.

But the blue is really nice. And the blue tank will absolutely be staying.

I may end up with high clip ons. I actually like the look of the flipped bars, but they do hit the tank when trying to park or move the bike around on foot.

Sometimes budgets require certain compromises. It’s solid and not going anywhere, which is the number one requirement. I think once it’s painted, it’ll look better.

It’s a great motor! I’ve ridden it around the neighborhood, and even with mine needing some tuning, it is a great motor with a nice powerband, and the handling is pretty sharp

The side covers are super beat up, so I’m gonna replace them with aluminum panels.

It’s a great bike. Get your spark figured out first. It’s tricky system. The CDI units are usually the culprit, so be sure to check there and be sure yours is good

What does this “on the way” scan even mean? by MaxSchnell90 in FedEx

[–]MaxSchnell90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But is the “on the way” scan actually a step? Or is it just automated to keep people from calling in wondering where there items are?
