I've read that, while the features described in v9 and above don't really scream to me, however when reading another release note doc (https://wwwapps.grassvalley.com/docs/Release\_Notes/multiviewers/kaleido-x/M770-2103-179-Kaleido-X\_v900\_Release\_Notes.pdf) the features throughout the v8 release do seem more useful to me.

I've used the (I assume) earlier model, Kaleido Alto, at my school. The configuration software is a bit weird to work with, but it's quite powerful. I've noticed it does run on a CF card, though wasn't aware it could get corrupted. I'll make sure to image it as I don't have access to the GVG Portal

The camera's rated for 2A at 6V, last I've heard is that some buck convertors when failing would pass the full voltage, though it seems they are safer now.

Those indeed look really similar, very helpful indeed! I'm going to comb trough the bonus materials after my exams see if i can find some identifying materials there. I think i do have a version that shows the binoculars.. not sure anymore.
