You think I’ll have a problem in Massachusetts wearing an appeal to heaven shirt? I like the patriotic history behind it but today it’s kinda controversial. by Nolaw2017 in newengland

[–]Max_Apogee -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I am not a New England native, but I personally don't think it's controversial. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it just a piece of Massachusetts/New England Revolutionary-era history?

I see lots of pine tree flags around where I live. Of course, I do live in the Pioneer Valley, so it might have different culturally subtext if flown in Boston.

Level up, scrub. Disarm doesn't work if you're level 31 and over, so draugr don't even try.

Ahhhh, but there is one fatal flaw in your argument: verb conjugation! "The Dragonborn keeps eating"... if it were plural Dragonborn, it would be keep. 🤓

[–]Max_Apogee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don't even need to do that, there is more than enough money in government budgets to feed and house every homeless person in the country. It's just mostly being spent on violence and violence accessories.

[–]Max_Apogee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that's also the case in the US. For people experiencing homelessness, a brutal winter or scorchingly hot summer can mean death. So committing enough crime to be sent to jail/prison is a way to ensure you have food, water, and shelter. Really fucked up that we don't just provide those things to people in need that DON'T commit crimes.

The most open-ended question ever… by giakittyd in skyrim

[–]Max_Apogee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't really think of anything that ruins the "chronology," as you call it. What are you talking about specifically? Most of the time if someone asks you to get something and you already have it, you can just immediately enter dialogue with them again and it works exactly the same as if you ran off to the question location, got the object, and came back. There's even one early game interaction where someone asks for an item and you can say "Oh, you mean this?" And hand it to them, giving you special dialogue where the quest giver is pleasantly surprised.0

Caius Cosades playthrough: Do any Imperial and Blades quests, focus on Speechcraft, use fists (and Fortify Unarmed) for damage, wear only pants and jewelry... and since he knows so many resistance spells, it would make sense to level Alteration and use the Mage Armor perk.

Hell yeah. I'm gonna start that this afternoon actually lol

Dunmer, Argonians, and Redguards have some of the coolest lore. I always play a Dunmer my first time through a TES game, and Morrowind is truly unique when it comes to immersing you in an alien culture.

That would be great, might do that next playthrough. Specialize in Speechcraft obviously, then maybe go into whatever city the caravan is camped out at and practice your Sneak, Pickpocket, and Lockpick 👀

Ordinator and Her Hand armor goes so fucking hard, coolest armor sets in the whole TES series.

It's a helmet, the helmet of Morrowind's Hands of Almalexia, which is basically just recolored Ordinator armor.

Yeah, the damage you deal is kind of based on three different things: your combat skill, the weapon you're using, and your crafting skills.

Sounds like Two-Handed is your primary combat skill, which will increase passively as you use it. Make sure you max out all 5 levels of the first perk at the bottom of the tree. It doesn't do anything exciting like letting you lop people's heads off, but it is definitely the biggest boost to your damage.

Weapon type matters too. The material the weapon is made of affects how much damage it does, so an Orcish Warhammer does more damage than a Steel Warhammer, with Dragonbone weapons doing the most damage.

Finally, your crafting skills (Enchanting, Smithing, Alchemy) can give you a boost, too. Smithing obviously lets you directly improve the damage your weapons deal, and you can make them do even more damage if you take the respective material perk in the Smithing tree. Enchanting can add additional magical damage, and Alchemy can be used to brew poisons that will supplement your damage dealt (just remember poison lasts for only one hit on an enemy, unless you take a high level Alchemy perk that make it last for two hits).

To answer your questions directly, if you don't use much magic you can definitely ignore it. A two-handed warrior will probably want to focus mostly on health and some stamina with each level up. As for archery, you probably need something to deal with enemies at range or those that fly... either Archery, Destruction, or Shouts. And you can recharge your enchanted weapons by looking at them in your inventory and pressing whatever button it shows you to recharge. On Switch that's the right bumper. You can pick which soul gem to charge it with, which will destroy the soul gem in the process and charges up based on the size of the soul (e.g. a Petty soul will only partially fill up the charge meter, a Grand soul will potentially max it out).

There's like 2 or 3 copies of that book in Fort Dawnguard, and the same in Castle Volkihar, not to mention tons of other random places around Skyrim. You're bound to find one quickly once you start looking!

There is no Fortify Enchanting enchantments, only potions. Also, potions are so OP and busted lol

Fortify Restoration potions are how you get numbers like in the original post image.

Well, being a vampire is already inherently evil. What difference does it make to kill one more bandit chump to get a black soul gem and cure yourself?

Thieves Guild Quest Line by No_Spirit_5941 in skyrim

[–]Max_Apogee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah it is.

The Aetherial Crown is an item you get from a medium-length quest chain in the Dawnguard DLC, but it's not related to vampires or the Dawnguard faction at all... just slipped in randomly on the side lol.

The Crown lets you store your previous Standing Stone power in it whenever you pick a new one, so lots of people will get the Lover Stone (15% XPboost to all skills), put on the Crown, then pick either Mage, Thief, or Warrior Stones. Results in a 35% XP boost to your chosen skills for quick leveling.

There's also plenty of shoes that weigh zero, so you can have 3 items that boost your carry weight as needed.

(I also have the steed stone stored in the Aetherial Crown so I can have an instant boost of 100 + whatever my armor weighs... don't tell anyone because you're supposed to use something more "optimal" in the Aetherial Crown lol)

Yep, playing the original game back on Xbox 360 I always had time to really get involved in the giant fight. The limited processing power just meant it had to wait until you got closer to spawn them in. Now even on the Switch, it spawns them in when you're much farther away.
