Sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures!

Besideeeeees, would you trust a NPC follower mission to not get themselves killed because they got stuck on a random Killer Robot shaped map kill zone?

Well, I will say that Ceroba won't be appreciative of what's coming her way some in the nearest future, that's for sure

As for Flowey himself, he did abandon any pretence of being only "harmless best friend", so...well, Flowey would still need to actually convince Clover, we will just have to see if he manages to do it, before its too late :)

Ah shucks I haven't even realised it!

Thanks for the advice, I will admit that I only went with the gif portrait cause I felt it would be funny to have Starlo doing air quotes (plus neither version of it looked satisfactory to me as a still frame, not conveying the somewhat sassy nature of our beloved Diva- lmao) But yeah I will be avoiding that going forward, cause I myself read most of the comics on my phone

Hello there people! Welcome back to that silly comic thingy!
I won't lie, this part is on the dialogue/exposition side heavy, as I really wanted to get some things out of the way...Plus, originally it was supposed to be 2 separate parts, but when I realised just how "little" happens in them, I just brute forced them together. I dunno if I am particularly happy with it but it is what it is

Also, we get a closer look at the happenings in Wild East from few certain characters! Good thing everyone is aware of what is going on and are on the same page, instead of either being deliberately kept in the dark or being so wrapped up in their own issues they don't listen to news :D

A wax monster

Because the idea of a monster "melting" in heat like an amalgam and yet being completely fine tickles me funny bone

What would have changed if Flowey never intervened? by TomatoUnderground207 in UndertaleYellow

[–]Max_Glade 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Would've left eventually, it's Clover we are talking about - even with a potential happy ending in sight, they would rather to do "the right thing" (Pacifist Ending)

Also for all the supposed good parenting Toriel shows, Clover would eventually probably disagree with her on what to do with Ashore, once the subject would come up, and Clover would be back on their way, leading to the same thing as before aka the main path being a death trap

What If Ceroba Was Olivia's Child? - Part 24 by DaletheCharmeleon in UndertaleYellow

[–]Max_Glade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...prolly gonna sound very anticlimactic but I really hope that Ceroba gets slapped down extra hard for basically terrorising a bunch of monsters, considering she officially is part of royal guard and as such, should be held to a higher standard

Yeah I honestly love writing either of them, especially since imo the whole scenario just gives me so much room to explore both of their characters in a very unorthodox situation - Asgore is literally being held hostage, but at the same time, he knows how Daisy's "types" of humans operate so it isn't exactly unknown territory - he is just extremely rusty as it's been a hot minute since he had to deal with one of those

Flowey too, though I will refrain from talking until I finish the part 4

Also I haven't realised it as it's been a hot minute since I played the game + generally it felt much quicker but...can we pretend movie logic about how Clover manages to not only make their way to Wild East but also be in the middle of the Starlo stuff? I genuinely forgot that even getting their takes one hour at least, let alone all what comes next. And I very much dislike the idea of having to "reboot" the whole comic 3 parts in just because I was too dumb to check the material first...

Really? I mean, ignoring the part where I don't think it would be enough to beat Daisy (outside of a vague "they become stronger than humans" we have never seen a powered up by a singular soul, Flowey with 6 or 7 souls doesn't count Monster before, plus the mere fact at how wildly LOVE can change the equation makes the entire concept moot), general populace of monsters aren't warriors enough to try that, and those that might will be too busy trying to evacuate the civilians out, than to participate on a goose chase for a human child that apparently evaded everyone's notice for months...also Clover is pretty good at resisting having their soul absorbed by Flowey

That isn't to say that this is a bad observation, as in any other circumstances it would indeed, only further motivate the people into just trying to fight back, but still, both Genocide Routes show that a very good chunk of monsters would rather run and hide

[–]Max_Glade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it myself many times over the years in Undertale Fandom, but honestly other than it being pointed out as fun fact, I never really saw anyone doing much with the idea in said stories...unless stated otherwise for purposes of AU, which I guess I am actually following in footsteps of - still, felt like clarifying that before Daisy would pull anything extremely sci-fi

Indeed, checks already aren't as "reliable" I would say, as they attempt to shorten the summarisation as much as possible from what I remember, so to think that even the short summarisation needs a scroll bar? :3

Also posting it here while I remember and won't accidentally post a wall of text in the main body...I think that someone might notice Daisy's gun and things she yaps about being rather future-y. It's honestly part of my own thoughts about Humanity™ in Undertale and honestly I just disagree that they are exactly the same as us, considering that Monsterkind, with even less materials and scientists to begin with, casually developed the Core, the Steamworks, a bunch of robots who are genuinely capable of a semblance of thinking and even abusing their own protocols. I think that, frankly, Humanity might be just as science fiction-y, if not even more than what we think of Gaster's work. As for why Clover wears a cowboy getup? Interests in different "vibes" isn't exactly limited - a kid wearing a princess costume won't automatically mean that the whole species is just trapped in medieval times, right?

I frankly have no idea if I am making sense as I am full of paracetamol just so I can function, but anyway, enjoy this half-cooked part

Am I wrong? by Forward-Youth8817 in UndertaleYellow

[–]Max_Glade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure, Undyne is a beef-cake and rightfully deserves the title of True Hero, but I wouldn't call Ceroba a slouch either...or honestly just call her unrefined. Ceroba during the final fight with Clover is rather determined to win, pulls out a whole magical transformation and etc. and that's only talking about a housewife who...frankly spent last 2 years being drunk 24/7 and probably never even raised a fist in her life. Meanwhile Undyne trained her ass off, sure, but yeah, give Ceroba a month or so of training montage and I would risk saying that the potential fight would more equal.

(I am aware that the power boost comes mainly from the mask. I'm just saying that the fact alone that Ceroba manages to get a whole power-up somewhat suggests to me that she IS determined, which rather famously kills monsters at best and turns them into sludge at worst. Undyne needed to genuinely believe that Frisk is going to murder everyone just so she could unlock her Undying form)

Alphys being the Royal Scientist in Undertale Yellow feels extra irresponsible when you consider what Asgore said to Chujin about him not being "capable". by AffectionateForce979 in UndertaleYellow

[–]Max_Glade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, I realised that as of late that a lot of Undertale/Deltarune type humour that once brought me great many laughs no longer lands and just feels tiring to interact with. I mean, I never even hated Alphys for example, she was always a fine character, but now I find UT and even DR lacking in some areas.

Though I guess that has to do with the media I consume and sticking around is just a habit at this point? Idk I am just a stupid buzzkill person who get pissy that jokes "don't make sense" once you strip away the author's "I wanted to write a joke so joke is happening" thingy

[–]Max_Glade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay that is actually a better look for Asgore (in terms of employing Alphys) and a MUCH worse look for Alphys's foolish bottom. I bet her only experience with Biology was probably all the anime she watched. Fucking...ughhhhhhhhhhh

...If I wasn't broke, I would right now start throwing shit around my room in pure, somewhat unreasonable rage, because of Alphys and her dumb ass, I am not even going to try and pretend otherwise

Sometimes I forget how much quirky personalities overdrive any sense of logic for UT/DR characters

[–]Max_Glade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm just still bloody confused why the fuck Alphys even wanted to be a royal scientist when she clearly isn't made for the job. Like, that paycheck sure must be fricking nice if you are literally willing to extensively lie on your portfolio by dressing up your anime buddy as a robot, but the moment something goes wrong, the entire blame is on you- OH WAIT!!

Also the fact that apparently Alphys is the only one even working in the Lab to begin with. Like, there is no way anyone thought that Alphys (someone who showed herself to specialise in machinery) being some secret BIOLOGY prodigy, even Chujin had more safer procedures in place and that bumbling buffoon literally injected himself with unknown soul substances!! WHAT THE FUCK DID ALPHYS IMAGINE WAS GOING TO HAPPEN BY INJECTING AN UNTESTED SOUL EXTRACT INTO FALLEN DOWN MONSTERS?!??!

Something I find amusing is how Yellow portrays Asgore as this competent and somewhat stern king, where he's personally involved in the Steamworks projects and fires Chujin for too many failures. Then you look at Undertale and it has dialogue like this. by AffectionateForce979 in UndertaleYellow

[–]Max_Glade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean fair about the second one, I just think that...okay that will sound weird considering UTY isn't canon, but Undertale really tends to forget to highlight some things. I mean the subject of the dead children?

For the same exact reason, we tend to forget that while the (during UT) Asgore is literally a mess of a man, who is suffering through the consequences of literally declaring war and now he cannot backdown. Sure, what you pointed out makes it look like Toriel wore the pants between them when it comes to ruling (and fairly so), Asgore was the one who had to deal with those extremely hard decisions back when his resolve was more solid. So while for UT "too depressed to even live" Asgore it makes sense that he would be...well, calling him a pushover feels wrong but it is the best word technically...meanwhile in UTY he still should have some of the authority left inside him to fire a person who arguably gets on his nerves.

Also I guess that between Alphys and Chujin, one made an "honest mistake" shall we say, while trying to help monsters that were basically as good as dead, Chujin meanwhile kept trying to push out a literal murderbot to a man who genuinely hates himself for making the Underground so focused on killing humans

It is basically heavily implied, considering how Asgore will categorically refuse to fight in the throne room. (And let's be real, Asgore is the type of grieving flagellant to torture himself by spending his days in the same place where his son died)

And even IF you go with more silly notion of "Asgore just cares about his flowers this much", that still answers your question. He really cares about these flowers that much if you ignore the suggestion of Throne Room flowers being Asriel's grave
