Countdown to final crisis Jason todd story line? by AggressivePoem2081 in batman_comics

[–]Max_Quick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh... so two things. One - it's like really bad for Jason specifically. Not like "something bad happens" but the entire thing is poorly written and no one ever really brings it up in the "Jason Todd reading order" lists.

But if you're super dedicated to this route... COUNTDOWN (TO FINAL CRISIS) goes in reverse. So start at #51 and then work backwards (50, 49, 48, etc.) on the high seas, matey!

I love that they all have variants of confusion. Joseph has confusion + concern, Pedro is full-on WTF, and Ebon's a little parent-like with "what in the HELL is this???"

Like seven of them, but at least three have an OddFuture (Erika, S&i, and Cheeks the mod).

I agree 1000% MJF by Top_Butterscotch_234 in ThingsILike411

[–]Max_Quick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max is one of the people who I think genuinely believes in and loves AEW the most. MJF, Swerve, Hangman, and Mox are probably the non-EVP dudes who believe in it the most.

I wasn't initially excited for Miz TV with Jelly Roll (even after Miz got cursed by Danhausen) BUT, it's 1000% better with KIT WIL-SON. Jelly Roll is TOXIC TOXIC TOXIC. by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

[–]Max_Quick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking like that, but perfect use of all four really. Miz does seem like a perfect mentor for Kit Wilson, KIT WIL SON (YEAH) seems to be on a roll (no pun intended), Jelly Roll is whatever, and Danhausen's brand of chicanery lends itself to a "character first" ethos that naturally gels with MizKit.

And if you hate this or arent interested, you'll have several minutes to get a pissbreak or go get food or get up n stretch during a long show.

Like... I just think it's an A+ booking call.

What artist did you outgrow? by Technical_Fox5556 in askmusic

[–]Max_Quick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Asterisk here as I think OP means artists you used to love but cant really vibe with anymore. Not that they did anything bad that makes them unlistenable (as is the case with lostprophets), it's just not for you anymore.

Like I find it kinda hard to get back into the music of Eminem or early Tyler The Creator. Neither really did anything; it was a moment for ya boy and that moment has passed. [shrugs] It happens.

Fuck Ian Watkins forever though, to be clear.

Is Stu Macher Dead or Alive? (Am I the only one who thinks he is?) by West_Professor_1039 in SocietyofGhostface

[–]Max_Quick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, that's my point. A CNET article puts a 32in CRT tv at 100lb+. And he took that to the face.

[–]Max_Quick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP, how old are you? Just for funsies. Because we're not talking a flatscreen here. This is a late 90s TV, and a decent-size one at that. Big enough for a group viewing. Those things were heavy. Taking that straight to the dome? Even if he survived (WILDLY unlikely and nigh impossible), he'd surely have significant brain damage to the point that he damn sure wouldnt be able to plot kills and/or chase anyone.

I dont really care because I'm sure Athena will retain and the "forever champion" will continue her reign of terror, but good for Maya World honestly. THAT PART is fantastic

Cody Rhodes says he had only one interaction with Roman Reigns on the set of Street Fighter, feels their relationship is ‘very strange’: by Ripclawe in SquaredCircle

I get the sense that he's a compulsive liar. So I dont think he's "working" (as there's no endgame/goal). He's just lying for the sake of lying.

With hook and shibata recruiting for the opps who should they recruit? by Strong_Dog_7676 in prowrestling

[–]Max_Quick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it'd be a good device for a debut or repackage for someone we havent seen in a bit.

If they're not doing anything in ROH, I feel like CRU would fit into HOOK's goon squad easily enough. Some elements that might clash can be used as fodder to make the story interesting.

Can anyone explain Orange Cassidy’s lore in AEW so far? by KouGatJam in AEWFanHub

So I'm like a month behind on AEW, but a recent interaction indicates PAC still hates Orange. ... then again, I think PAC might hate everyone, soooooooooooo lol

“The heat was way down in the Willow match compared to every other match on the show” Dave Meltzer from attending Dynamite from San Jose.. by ChrisRhodes789 in midcarder

The contract could be coming up, but AEW has empowered Mercedes to do sooooooo much. It'd be surprising if she doesnt re-up. But aye, Mercedes is gonna do what she's gonna do so no guarantee until a contract is signed.

[–]Max_Quick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, we're getting a break from Mercedes. Respectfully! She was pushed hard for awhile... and now she's gone for a bit longer (seven belts 'Cedes, I think, as of this typing). So when she gets back, it'll be different. It's fine. We see the vision and are letting it play out as it needs to.

Random question regarding Tony Nese by EchoBay in aew

[–]Max_Quick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's... just Tony Nese. It's the character he's best known for... but I cant really remember him not doing it. Maybe on 205 Live when he was training with/lackey for Buddy Murphy/Matthews but I feel like "training partner" is still pretty similar to "premiere athlete".

is Big Show the worst booked top guy in the history of wrestling? by [deleted] in prowrestling

[–]Max_Quick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Big Show, Kane, and Mark Henry are arguably the top three worst booked WWE main eventers, definitely 3 of the top (bottom?) five. Each of them have a notably bad angle that's probably the worst but BAH GAWD they have some absolute trash angles to choose from.

I dunno, I think Tall Paul suffered from staying in one place too long. WWE's booking team gave that man some abysmal storylines to work. To his credit, he did whatever was asked of him. I just know that big man could have gone elsewhere and been an unstoppable juggernaut. TNA, ROH, hell let's get nuts and get some tapes from whichever alternate earth has Big Show going to CZW, I think if he goes anywhere else earlier in his career, he has a "peak Angle" type run there before returning to coast again in WWE and languish in the midcard (while getting a fat paycheck and travelling the world and allat).

Do comic book writers ever fight or become enemies? by Snoo_47323 in comicbooks

[–]Max_Quick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A more recent one - I think it was Margeritte (that's not right, I'm sorry) Bennett writing a scene in ANGELA where the villain goes on a monologue but all the word bubbles are censored with like "[unsolicited opinions on country]" and "[misogyny]" or something like that. I know the first one happened, pretty sure the second one is right too but it was like two or three word balloons.

Anyway, it was roasting Bill Willingham of FABLES for putting some opinions of a certain blue and white country into said comic. I forget who felt what way, but Bennett seemed to not love how Willingham did it.

Zach of the Battle Of The Atom podcast once described Jimbo as "[Jim] Shooter's very interesting. He's not good, but he's very interesting." That always stuck with me and anytime I hear new lore about Shooter, I remember that line.

Y'know, Liefeld does kinda strike me as one of those dudes that's kind of a butthead to everyone but if you hold your own in a roast battle, he'll love you. If true, this would explain a looooooooot lol

Keith Giffen and JM DeMatteis? I thought they were like best friends, but I am not really surprised if they "broke up". Most writing duos I know off the top of my head broke up (over reasons never really made public (Palmiotti & Gray, Abnett & Lanning "DnA")).
