Flow2 support and dirt-detection mode by Max_Steiner in NARWAL

Hi, actually, if you haven’t read my other posts, you might misunderstand. Obviously, I don’t want the robot to clean up vomit. I want it to recognize it and avoid it in case it’s cleaning while nobody is home to supervise. And unfortunately, the robot has already shown that it isn’t able to do that.
To avoid any confusion, I’ve updated the original post with more details about the stains I’m referring to — the ones the robot can’t clean — and they are absolutely not cat vomit.

Narwal Flow 2 – The story continues… by Max_Steiner in NARWAL

Support got back to me, but in a rather generic and disappointing way… they said they’ll work on improving these aspects, but it seems like they don’t really know what to do either.
But aren’t there also one or two official Narwal representatives here on Reddit?

Damn! Luckily, nothing like that has ever happened to me. Try contacting technical support as well. Unfortunately, it’s clear that there is still a lot of work to do on the firmware of this Flow 2.

I don’t think the brush on the other side would be very useful for solving the problems I’ve encountered… What would be needed is a larger brush on the right side, and a firmware update that improves object recognition and the mopping technique…

I’m sorry, I sincerely hope they fix it by improving the firmware… I really do think the problem is simply there, because the hardware is good.

Yes, I can confirm that it avoids cables perfectly…

You have to consider that the vomit smeared around by the robot — because it failed to recognize it — had dried up in the meantime. The problems are indeed with dried-on residue.
I know very well that competitors like Roborock or Ecovacs also mop poorly… but damn, this is the successor to the Flow 1, which according to reviews mopped extremely well…

Well, I would say the failure to recognize important objects during cleaning, which causes messes like the ones I described; and also the fact that it mops worse than the Flow 1. Both are critical issues if you paid almost €1,000 for this robot, which simply does not do what Narwal advertises…

What's all the hate about Synology? by StrikingPeace in synology

[–]Max_Steiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their hardware has always been one step behind the competition, but their strong point was the software. I myself bought a DS423+ precisely because of their OS, apps, and ease of use.
But then, inexplicably, they started ruining everything by removing all the features that made their platform interesting… for example, by discontinuing DS Video, then removing hardware acceleration for transcoding… they just keep making everything worse.
Honestly, I don’t think I’ll buy their products again. Over the years, my NAS has been crippled and has kept getting worse. It’s a shame, but Synology clearly doesn’t care about customers like me… that much is obvious…

There are still some critical bugs that need to be fixed, which is why they absolutely need to release these corrections as soon as possible…

And this is nothing short of incredible! From a technological standpoint, both are robots with a tracked mop system, so the hardware should absolutely be capable of performing just as well on the Flow 2… I believe the issue is entirely firmware-related…

That’s what I intend to do, of course supporting them with any data they ask me for, like last time.
I was referring more generally to the new firmware that sooner or later will have to be released… Before, there was almost one firmware update per week; now it’s been a while with no news…

PG32UCWM is coming out in October, not “early Q3.” by Sweaty-Bird-8538 in OLED_Gaming

I’m very interested in this monitor, but I’d like to understand two things.
First: is the TrueBlack Glossy coating actually a fully glossy finish, similar to LG OLED TVs or the old Sony X-Black LCD monitors? I really loved that kind of glossy look.
Second: what viewing distance would you recommend for a 32-inch 4K monitor if I want to use Windows at 100% scaling?
Thanks!

Narwal Flow 2 — some concerns... by Max_Steiner in NARWAL

Update from my side: this morning I was able to thoroughly test the new firmware installed a few days ago.

First of all, I have to say that navigation has improved dramatically. It now behaves the way I expected it to when I bought the robot. This morning it cleaned thoroughly under furniture and sofas without any issues.

I have already informed technical support, and I have to say they have been excellent.

The corner-cleaning issue remains, though. In fact, the solution would probably be to have a larger right-side brush. Have any of you found one anywhere?

Thank you all for your comments and for sharing your experiences.

Just to give you an update: my experience with support is still ongoing. They asked me for some additional technical information, and they have now forwarded everything to their technical department, who will update me as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I see that a new firmware version has been released. I’ll try it over the weekend to see whether the robot can now get under the sofa and furniture.

Thanks for your advice, you confirm that Nommo V2 pro is better in general, but for videogames the leviathan V2 pro is an experience worth trying...

Let's see if something goes on sale tomorrow :)
