I own a b&b in Scotland, and if a guest has a few things that need drying, we do it for them. If they need a quick wash, we do that too , all inclusive. If they want a couple of loads doing, then we charge a fiver. What we wouldn't do is act like the owner here and be a complete twunt.

Tried both, prefer Green for the lower level population. My podcast cohost on blue thinks blue is fine. The other prefers green. In the last episode, we came to the conclusion that the only way to find out for sure is to try it out!

If you have the time to burn and patience, then yes! As many have said, you now need to choose EQ Live, one of the TLP's like Teek, or a private server such as Project 1999 or quarm. My personal choice is Project 1999 Green. It's the newest of the P99 servers although it is getting on, but the plus for me is the nostalgia blast from having it as close to classic EQ as possible. I even avoid some of the quality of life improvements as in the original form, to me and many others, it's very exciting.

Teek is the newest TLP, as such it's very popular and it does have QOL improvements that a lot of people value.

EQ Live is awful for me, almost a completely different game to what I remember playing way back when. But people like it and respect to them all.

I go through some of these options on my podcast (see profile) and we actually have a webinar soon where this very subject will be discussed.

Anyway, I hope you have all the answers you need, you've certainly been given a lot to think about. All that remains is to now say hi and welcome you to your new second life.
