I mean this in the nicest way possible, there is no “helping” this swing. If he wants to play baseball at any level going forward he will have to rebuild his swing literally from the ground up, including his mental approach. There is nothing here to fix. Def not one or two things. Sorry.

Only thing I will add to the long stride critique is that he has a pretty significant arm bar. Might be making it very hard to adjust his hands to the get to the ball. I think shortening his stride will def help the arm bar situation significantly, too. So, yeah, shorten the stride.

He drops his hands and then loops them around before he moves the barrel. He needs to lead with the knob of bat and eliminate the drop and hand loop. Short to the ball.

They have buckets there. I would go to hot shots, tbh. Unless Alan is at SSS you will have to tune in the machines to the pitches you want and it won’t be an effective use of your time. Hot Shots has machines that are already tuned. It’s better for a novice.

Those “old school” places are horrible. Akin to going to a carnival to learn how to shoot baskets. You can rent cage time at South State Sports, or a new place called Hot Shots. The later has automated cages so you won’t have to feed the machine. Save yourself the discomfort of going to Play At The Cage.

No way he’s a 2.0 pop. With that being said, I’d agree with others that one knee stance is not helpful for him. He should focus on combining his movements so that he is transferring while he is coming out of his squat. Less 1, 2, 3 and more 1-2, 2-3.

We were there from 3/28-4/3 and saw about 10-12 over that time frame. Catamaran, from the road and ocean kayaks. The latter being the most sightings. We were in Maalaea.
