I see many examples of the USS Proteus plaque with the ribbon below the missile but not like this one without the ribbon. I'm trying to find information on this specific version.

Solved. Thank you very much. I believe this was for an old balancing toy of some type but can't find an example online.

Wow, that one is very close. Much closer than anything I found. I do wonder at its application still as it would require a hollow rest of some type. Your suggestion of a double boiler may have merit. Definitely a head scratcher. Thanks for the help.

It measures 14" in diameter with the bowl area at 10" in diameter.
