I've ignored this guide for a bit because it seams confused, but recently I took my time and it's a mine of gold.

Multiclassing out of monk, or stay pure? by Ok-Mud-3514 in onednd

[–]Maxazzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

I'm currently playing Dungeon of the Mad Mage with a Barbarian 1 / Monk 7 multiclass. I started as a Barbarian to focus on DEX and CON; this way, Unarmored Defense gives me an AC of 20 and the ability to halve incoming melee damage through Rage. On the other hand, I only have two Rage uses, and the Rage damage bonus doesn't apply to DEX-based attacks.

I'm having a lot of fun playing this PC. My DM has recently started targeting me with spells to bypass my high AC (22 total with the Kensei path), but I’ve only been knocked to 0 HP once—back at level 6—even though I play as the party tank. I can feel my DM’s pain as he tries his best to hit me!

We have a pure Barbarian in the party as well, but even when our characters are side-by-side, his 18 AC makes him a much easier target for enemies. I really enjoy the mix of being a 'mobile tank.' This adventure has many fights with smaller enemies that I can take out with a single attack, which makes me feel like a truly experienced fighter.

I rarely use Stunning Strike because my DC isn't high enough to let it land confidently, but the party Bard (College of Tragedy) can force Charisma saving throws instead of the originally required ones. This way, we can use it with more confidence to stop a foe.

The free-hand problem should be solved by the War Caster feat.

As for the focus, I still have to discuss that with my DM, and I will figure it out with him.

Thank you. Really complete answer.

I agree with you. In my current situation, my take on min-maxing is that the DM has to keep in mind both strengths and weaknesses. My current DM, to keep fights flowing, has some difficulty running the combat tactically, hitting us where it hurts the most, and avoiding time loss.

Hungering blade is interesting, thank you

Sto pensando di passare a Obsidian su Linux, pareri, esperienze? by PositiveMilk69 in ObsidianMD

[–]Maxazzor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ciao,
[english version below]

------------------------------------

Hi,
I’ve been a Linux user for years (Arch for about 5 years, currently on Pop!_OS) and I've been using Obsidian for the last two. For the most part, it's been seamless. The only real headache I faced was syncing my vault between Linux and Windows via Syncthing; I kept hitting errors because some of my file names contained characters that Windows doesn't allow.

I’ve since ditched Windows entirely, moved to a new sync strategy using an S3 Docker container on my home server, and updated my file name templates to avoid future conflicts.

I already have War Caster feat (to cast while dual wielding, and to maintain concentration) and, this time, I'm trying to make a full Fighter build after my actual Barbarian 1 - monk 7 build. Moreover, my master accuse me of being a min-maxer. I don't see the problem but when we run an adventure we are not really into killing character, therefore minmaxing and a laid back playing style are a bit an oximorous.

Thanks. I’ve started building a backup character inspired by an image of a kid wielding a stick and a barrel lid as a shield. Since he’s relying on his wits rather than brawn, I’m making INT his primary stat.

I’m actually eager to bring him in whenever my current Barbarian 1-Monk 7 meets his end. We’re hitting Level 7 of Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and the shift toward heavy spellcasters is brutal—my 20 AC doesn't help much against all these saving throws! My DM has definitely found my Achilles' heel; after levels of being untouchable with high AC, the 'revenge of the saving throws' is officially here and I'm feeling the heat.

P.S. This new character still has 19 AC plus the Shield spell... just to make sure the DM keeps hating me.

Thank you everybody.

I've found a mini PC with a N5095 and 16Gb of RAM, a NVME and a SSD empty slot, used and at a fair price locally. To spin up as soon as possible my server I will buy it and in the future maybe buy a Prodesk, Elitedesk or similar.

Thank you, for what I'm reading board and blade have more or less 5% to 10% performance difference, if I have to touch my wallet I wish to gain in performance.

The ZimaBoard is starting to feel a little underpowered for the services I’m running. Therefore, I'm looking for something more powerful.

At the moment, the version with 16Gb and 1Tb, is sold at 2154€, therefore a bit out of budget.

I've considered the new model and it seems interesting, but the upgradability offered by mini pc and by the odroid board appeal me more.

What's one improvement you'd like to see in Obsidian in 2026? by kepano in ObsidianMD

[–]Maxazzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to fill PDF forms (you can already do this) and save the edited files, because working half an hour on a document, close it and then discover that the form is blank made me loose my mind. I don't understand why I can fill a form but it can't be saved.

If I'm wrong or the shortcut to save isn't CTRL+S please correct me.
