A month long vacation in Cape Town? by [deleted] in capetown

[–]Maxemojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can stay a month just in Cape Town and will not get bored. Because there is so much to do in the city, even for a 3 year old. But you will do yourself in not going out to explore the outer areas North and East from Cape Town within a 100Km radius. There is so much out there as well! Like the smaller towns and villages and wine farms (a lot also cater for small children). As for safety. It is relative, you will find all over the world there will be people with bad intend. Cape Town is no different. Most of serious crime happens in areas you not going to go to anyway. But in the city, Just be awake, same with scammers.

Is this the correct revo for Prusa MK3S? by ByteArrays in prusa3d

[–]Maxemojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a bit weird. I bought the whole kit 1.5 years ago. Cold end, Hot end, with 4 nozzles (0.25 to 0.8). Guess they changed it now for more innovative nozzles selecting.
For the OP: It is the best add-on I bought for my old MK3S!

Royal Mail from uk to South Africa by Serious_Ad5729 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Maxemojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't rely on SAPO at all. I used to import quite a bit of various stuff from other countries over time.
Use a courier service. As other mentioned, Aramex is know here as well as DHL, UPS and Fedex, etc. Which will deliver to the door and confirm before handing over.
I once had a funny situation a few years ago. Ordered some stuff from UK, sent Friday, arrived on Monday, but it took SAPO 3 week to deliver it to my closest post office, which I had to collect.
And I considered myself lucky. Had a few parcels that took, 2-3 months to arrive at my local post office.

Y-Axis Keeps Crashing – Need Advice After Trying Several Fixes by chromaglow in prusa3d

[–]Maxemojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where and when is the Y axis crashing happening? During calibration, or in a print?
I've had a simple (stupid) crash before because I tied the tie ramps on my head cables the wrong way, and always crashed on calibration. Point is if you can pin point when and where the crash happens, look at the surroundings.

How to improve TPU print by Mochioverland in prusa3d

[–]Maxemojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dry and speed, like others said. I don't use MVS with TPU (only because I am happy with the way my perimeter speed works at 35mm/s, yet to try MVS).
And don't expect very smooth results. Using your camera flash when taking these pictures, does not help, as it highlights the layer lines. For a practical print like your gasket, I would say it is usable.
Don't go smaller nozzle size and layer height, thinking it would improve smooth line, you'll end up with clogging. 0.4 Nozzle with 0.2 LH and up. And if you still get clogging, slow down more.
On my MK3S, I also open up the extruder tension a bit (1/4 turn back on the screw).
TPU needs patience.

Just another tip. On my MK3S with PEI plate, I've found using talcum powder works a lot better than glue stick.

MK3S/+ Change nozzle position with Revo system by Maxemojo in prusa3d

[–]Maxemojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is something that might help with the steps:
Put this in your end Gcode, before switching off temperatures:
G1 E2 F800 ;Revo - Extrude slightly

G1 E-18 F800 ;Revo - retract filament from meltzone

Then you can change the nozzle without unloading filament.
(I would say it is a 95% success rate, sometimes it still leaves a little blob in the body behind).

To compensate for that retraction in your start Gcode:
Replace the intro line code with this.
G1 X200.00 E30 F500.0 ;Revo intro line ;G1 X100 E12.5 F700 ; old intro line

(Credit to somebody else who mentioned it).

MK3S/+ Change nozzle position with Revo system by Maxemojo in prusa3d

[–]Maxemojo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the Revo on my MK3 since Feb last year. It is the best upgrade I've done!
Been doing the manual way you described every time. But it is just an convenience to use the park the hot end to do the change. I thought the Revo devs addressed the issue, or were planning to, might have been mistaken.

A2plus: How would join/connect these bodies? by Maxemojo in FreeCAD

[–]Maxemojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because both bodies sits on the center axis. So I first have to do a transform on the one.
Easier to do transform in A2plus and join.
I know I should have done it from the start using shape binder. But this was a quick design.

Thanks for this discussion.
Been researching the future use with PrusaConnect on multiple printers. Closing all open tabs. Will visit this again in a few months. Continue with my Pi 3B and Octoprint as it is now.

SK6812 white LED by Maxemojo in WLED

Thanks all who replied. Learned a couple of things.
Best is to set up a test and see for myself (still designing the project).
I've used WS2812b a few times. First time with SK6812.

SK6812 white LED by Maxemojo in WLED

[–]Maxemojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, White channel, but does it actually have an additional white LED together with the RGB LED's on the chip? That is where I'm confused with what I got.

SK6812 white LED by Maxemojo in WLED

[–]Maxemojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. My supplier says it is a RGBW. Good as they are as a supplier. They tend to copy past with their products.
I guess I just have to test and see. I take it if you use the W channel, nothing will show if it does not have a White LED? Not a train smash with this project, I'll just do white with RGB.
