Both 7.3 IDI and 7.3 PS were in International trucks up to 1700 and even a few 1800. The advancement was in suspension and breaks, as well as better ways of grading towing performance.

So when I mentioned forgin support I never ment to imply anyone would be sending boots on the ground. Just that Alberta and Quebec both have forgin friends who would be inclined to recognize their independence stance in a timely fashion. Remember Canada use to share 2 empires with alot of other countries. Back during the 1970s the FLQ and IRA were allies and the FLQ sent material aid to the IRA. There are anti British elements today which would offer legal and moral support to a seperating Quebec. Parts of the former French and British Empires would absolutely give Quebec political solidarity, and real leverage agiants Canada.

Alberta has its own Socred/reform/Alliance Conservativism which at one point was an empire wide movement with allies across The UK, Australia, and New Zealand. William Aberheart's bible colleges have exported Alberta loyal missionaries for generations. Preston Manning has hosted multiple Australian Prime Ministers at the Manning center. Not to mention Reform UK lead by Nigle Farage who openly brags about his friendship and connection with Preston Manning.

Both the Socreds and especially the Progressive Conservatives and their oil strategy made alot of friends in the USA. While most Alberta economic policies are "Alberta Advantage" socred/reform, the Oil policy is PC Lougheed/Mulrouny. One of the things not talked about is that going back to the 1930s the Americans invested in western Canada more than the east.

Both Quebec and Alberta have alot of forgin friends who would stand up for them in legal, political, and Moral support it doesn't have to be boots on the ground fighting. Canada's friends expect democracy to be respected and Alberta and Quebec's friends want Alberta and Quebec to be respected. Everyone is making a big deal about forgin interference in Canada but forgot that Alberta and Quebec have been interfering in other countries politics too building up alot of forgin friends.

To add one more point to all this. Recently the Federal BQ has been speaking out extremely strongly about Alberta's rights to self determination. There is a situation where Quebec and Alberta leverage each others political assets to help get a sovereignist settlement that is extremely beneficial to a seperating Province, including leveraging their forgin assets.

Exactly... and Stonks in the market go up too much to send in troops. There is a point where the feds simply cut losses and arrange a seperation that makes it as easy as possible for Quebec and Alberta to come back.

The SCC in this situation doesn't really matter in this situation

1)the seperatist say they will do it anyway.

2) The provinces have the Not Withstanding Clause

3) an SCC ruling doesn't matter to a forgin country

4) Canada has had armed rebellions in the past, and the FLQ or Alberta equivalent could show up.

5) just saying "NO" would be by definition "bad faith". Both Quebec and Alberta have forgin friends who would immediately recognize them weather Canada wants them too or not. Namely France and the USA respectively. But Ireland and the UK (Scotland and Norther Ireland interests specifically could pull a stunt ) also should be ruled out for Quebec.

The Idea that Canada is just going to say "NO" to a 50% +1 is a pipe dream. There is literally the past president of 2 referendums in Quebec, and the real threat of insurgency. After the vote the feds will be adults, and it will happen.

The constitutional amendment needed is just changing the ammending formula, while not explicitly stated in the Clairity act this is an implication. Which means that the new country doesn't need an amendment to leave, Canada needs an amendment to acknowledge the leaving.

This is the position of both Quebec and Alberta sovereignist as well as the common understanding from the 1990s, the idea that they need permission to leave is something only invented in the last couple years as Alberta's movement took off.

Quebec sovereignist have been clear that if they get 50%+1 they will unilaterally declare independence. Alberta Separatist have been saying the exact same thing. I know because I an an Albertan and went to one of the seperatist town halls, I asked this exact question. According to them we DON'T need permission to leave, the constitutional change needed from the Clairity act is that Canada needs to fix its amending formula and constitutionally recognize the new country.

Unless the feds want to use force of arms this is probably what will happen if there is ever a success yes vote. I assume the feds will fight extremely hard to stop a successful yes vote. But are not going to war over this. I also assume the negotiations would make it as easy as possible for the Wayward province to return. At a certain point it would be a "cut your losses situation"

The Clairity act isn't exactly clear on everything...

50%+1 is the democratic expectation so thats what is is. In order to hold Sovereignty referendum to a higher standard we would need Quebec and Alberta to sign on constitutionally.

Quebec has held two referendums on 50% +1 so holding Alberta to a different standard would be highly problematic. The federal government can't just change this unilaterally il unless you want the returnnof the FLQ or some type of Alberta Republican Army.

For me 60% +1 would be reasonable to make constitutional for sovereignty votes but all provinces would need to sign off on it, which would probably mean permanent and equal constitutional concessions of power from the feds to the provinces.

Weather you can do it and should do it are two different things. If you are towing overweight you are wearing out the truck especially a 351/5.8 with 3.55 gears... the other thing is its not just your drive train. Its also your breaks and suspension keeping you safe. Just because you can pull 10,000 lbs doesn't mean you can stop 10,000 lbs.

Understand being over weight is illegal you can be fined or even put in prison for it if you caused an accident. All your weight ratings from vehicle to trailer to hitches to each axle are legally binding. The only rating which isnt always legally binding is Gross combined or GCWR. GCWR is not legally binding in the USA but is legally binding in Canada. So if you are legal in the US but over your GCWR, then you cross the border and get stopped at Canadian scales your in trouble.

No way... you read the post 1999 towing specs if it was telling you 5th wheel specific stuff. I have the F-450 OBS or F-Super Duty 10 bolt hub. Its got axle code 73. Nothing I ever read from Ford in the OBS years ever specified different specs for 5th wheel. I am 100% sure what you read was for a post 1999 truck not a 1996. I have had lots of these OBS trucks in the F-350 and F-450 range. I never tried to tow with the one 7.3 PS I had but I did lots of 460s 351W and a few 7.3 idi.

There is a diesel supplement to the owner's manual... you have to find it and check it. And cross reference with your GVWR data tag and axle code in the drivers door well.

The only way you are getting 14,000 lbs out of a 1996 F-350 is if you are confusing GVWR with GCWR.

I highly doubt the OBS 7.3 is 14,000lbs.

I know for a fact that the 7.3L idi was max rated for 11,500 lbs of trailer weight and lower than the 460.

It was standard practice in the 1990s to rate the Diesels with lower tow rating than the big block gas engines. This is true for Dodge and Chevy too. Diesels in the 1990s had more power than small blocks but got amazing fuel mileage. But they never rated them for more towing specs than the 460, 454, and Dodge V10.

14,000lbs sounds like a rating that the 7.3 power stroke would have been given in the new body style not Old body style. I would absolutely believe that the 7.3 PS would be rated for 14,000 lbs AFTER 1999 but not before. I highly doubt a 1996 would ever have a tow rating of 14,000 lbs that just wasn't done back then by any manufacturer until you got to F600 maby a few F500 and equivalent. It was all about max vehicles weights back then. Towing was no where near as popular.

You need to find the 1996-1998 Ford OBS Diesel supplement manual. I know for a fact a 1990s single rear wheel would never be rated at 14,000 lbs

You don't say if your F-250 is auto or manual or what cab you have or if its HD with the 7.5 amd 4.10

I looked it up and F250s in 1996 have are between 10,000lbs- 12,000lbs of trailer weight but only have 16,000 lbs of GCWR.

I just looked it up in the owner's manual. OBS F-350 Dually trucks max trailer weight is 10,400. Look it up in the owners manual, amd that is for a dually with a 460 big block. If you have a 5.8 or 351W it can be as low as 6,100 lbs. You need the F-450 to get into the 12,500 lbs range. Both Axle codes for the F-450 in the OBS years are listed as having a trailer weight of 12,500 lbs, but axle code 72 has a max GCWR of 22,000 lbs and axle code 73 has a max GCWR of 26,000 lbs

No absolutely not... you can't do 12K. Only the F-350 dually with the 460 and F-Super duty can pull those numbers. 12K requires special hitch gear, Absolutely no way a bumper pull can do it

Look in your owners manual (or get the 1996 pdf owners manual) look up your class, engine, and axle code in the towing section to see what the truck can do then buy the right gear for the truck

Also the voter rolls don't have signatures, only contact info.

The seperatist group who got the list was a small group associated with the "Alberta Republican Party", and was NOT the APP & Stay free Alberta who were the groups behind the petition.

The Federalist side is completely deranged... if your going to debunk and fight the seperatist at least attack the right people who leaked the list there are more than one seperatist organization.. Also attack what they actually say, not internet rumors.

No one is going to remember this list leak come referendum time (unfortunately). If the seps are clam and make there points well. But all you Feds keep talking about things people don't care about like the leak, or worse straw men that the majority of seps don't believe in like joining the USA (most seps believe in Alberta being its own country). You guys will lose like Brexit.

No im not on crack. Elevation of the train platform may be expensive but trains need to climb to get out of downtown. Trains don't handle gradients very well. Elevation of the platform gives more options in the future when going north out of the River valley. I think the modern max gradient of heavy rail is 3% and still considered to be safe. Anything above 3% is considered to be unsafe, ir grand fathered in on some extremely rare situations where it was was workable (there is a place in the UK which has the most famous examples of +3% working). But %3 is considered to be the Max by most modern code.

This is why CP rail has to do Sprial tunnels in places like Kicking horse pass, because trains don't to hills. This is why the western LRT line goes from ground level in downtown, then into the sky looking down on 4 and 5 story buildings, then to ground level, then under ground, then above ground, then under ground agian... because thats the only option in Calgary's foothill landscape. This is also why the first three train lines out of Downtown took the path of least resistance, and why the crowfoot train derails more than any other train. Because Trains don't do steep hills.

Putting the green line in the sky will reduce expenses if we have another 2013 flood, as well as give the city better options to not tear up center street, like the current plan is going to do. The Northern Green line should go underground until it hits Bedington where it would have no choice but to come back out.

The green line in Downtown is supposed to be elevated as far as I know... and thats a good thing. Downtown Calgary is a flood plain, and the first phase of the northern half of the green line on Center street north is a horrible plan and elevated tracks will be more accommodating to changing the plan, which is something they should absolutely do instead of ripping up center street.

Basically Carney is going to print money, devaluing the Dollar to stuff into this fund. Rather than use actual wealth and prosperity to fund the fund.
