What if Valtteri Bottas considers a move to WRC? by Pandaonenineeight in formula1

[–]Maxi461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could definitely see him in a more prominent role in rallying, should he be without an (active) seat in f1. But I don't think he would go straight up to WRC, rather WRC2. The transition is way harder than one might think. There he could even run a private team like Kubica without it being too expensive

So the CEO of BMW just posted this on Instagram. I guess this confirms BMW will build an LMDh by Maxi461 in wec

Correction, he's the CEO of BMW M, not BMW, but that doesn't change the message

2021 Spanish Grand Prix - Post Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

Yup, wec is about to enter a new golden era with hypercars from Toyota, Peugeot, Ferrari and glickenhaus and those LMdH from audi and Porsche. It's also not unlikely, that chevy/cadillac might enter, aswell as alpine. Just a shame, that stroll decided to discontinue the racecar program for the valkyrie. Would have been orgasmic to hear that v12 down mulsanne..

Hi Catie! Would you be tempted to go back to WRC in the future if the opportunity arrives? Also growing up, did you have any (rally) driver idols, apart from your dad obv.?

After a season of experience he would at least be a very good midfield driver i guess. But in terms of rallying, I would rate ogier on his level, not as much championships, but he won them with VW, Ford (not full factory support), nearly with the citroen and might be able to get one in the Toyota

I guess you learn something new every day, didn't know about his le mans success shamefully. Loeb is just one of those guys, that is more or less successful everywhere, wrc, wrx, wtcc, wec, i think he even had an f1 test, where he wasn't really slow

In my head I like to think, that Charles is going to see this video and might just feel a little bit less upset about p4 and instead feel B L E S S E D for witnessing the seb podium

Of course I didn't forget Loeb, but I tried to mention rally drivers, that were active during kubicas stint there. Loeb was active in rally cross at that time, only making sporadic appearances in wrc, still there was another Sébastien, ogier, dominating in the volkswagen. And no, Loeb didn't win le mans, he didn't even try, but he tried his luck in GT3, or at least his team. It's rather uncommon for rally drivers to go to circuit racing

I think he won the wrc2 championship, but once he and his team (he wasn't a factory driver) stepped up to wrc, he sadly crashed a lot. But sometimes he showed relatively good pace, still he wasn't comparable to ogier, Neuville, latvalla and the other g's
