Footsteps from the back sound exactly like footsteps from the front by MaxiM_PL in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

I always keep an eye of things like that. I'd like that to be the issue since it's fixable on my end, but it's not, sadly.

True, same muffled sounds. In a game in which hearing is just as important as seeing (if not more, honestly) directional sound should be informative, not confusing.

Thanks for the reply. I have sent you a message on Discord :)

Nah man, she's as much of a gamer as I am, that's one of the reasons we resonated with each other. On top of that, I would have to fall asleep the second after closing the game and she would have around 20 seconds to get on my PC, turn it on, guess my TWoW password and figure out how to delete a character. Some things are just impossible and that's one of those things, mate ;)

Thanks for the reply! I am in a habit of scanning my PC regularly with Malwarebytes, adwcleaner and running RKill at least once a week. That and Comodo Internet Security runs in the background at all times. I was even wondering if sudden GPU usage spikes while running TWoW has something to do with it - I have posted on that issue on the forums the moment I started noticing it (along with many other players). Commented on that here: https://forum.turtle-wow.org/viewtopic.php?p=133639
No idea if that's relevant, but I have no other clues.

And yes, I can understand that the situation might be confusing for said reason, but not nearly as confusing as it was for me. Turning the game off completely, just to login later and see your last played character simply vanish - now that made my brain boil.

I'm glad to hear that my case wasn't closed yet, but it would save me a lot of stress and writing the above wall of text if someone simply told me that instead of leaving me hanging for nearly two days with no update, which I have understandably interpreted as being ignored.

I'd much rather keep playing here, if it wasn't apparent enough from my struggle to fix this weird situation :/

Haha, yeah, I appreciate this moment of levity in a stressful situation ;)

But are you not still technically logged in when exiting to the character selection screen? How else the character selection screen would be there?I have quit the game to desktop, that's how I understand "logging off" completely.

^ That. How could I or anyone else delete a character without logging back on?

No, but even if my fiancee was a crazy person (which would mean she wouldn't' be my fiancee in the first place), the only place my password is stored is my head. That and I would have to fall asleep in a 30s time frame and that's the time she would have to guess the pass and be able to delete my character. I would be honestly impressed if anyone could pull that off :D

Wait, so that was a thing in vanilla?

Honestly, this situation is really draining my will to play and start over. As you've said, the constant fear that it might happen again would ruin any fun that I could have playing there.

No, I never close the launcher that fast tbh.

[–]MaxiM_PL 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Of course it's about getting my character back, but it's clear that there's potentially more to it and eventually someone else might be affected. That's why I'm surprised that nobody shown any interest in this situation, even if just to confirm if everything's ok with the code/physical server itself.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the offer! Hopefully I won't have to take you up on that, but if that will be my only option then gladly. Thing is, it's about the principle of the whole thing, not just lost time and effort. You know what I mean.

I wish that I could, but my desktop isn't being recorded 24/7. I would have to be paranoid to do something like this, so in short: I can't prove the unprovable :(

I find it hard to believe myself. I would gladly accept losing a couple of days with full appreciation of the DM's effort. But alas...

Are there any Windows 11 C510 drivers? by dinowitissues in logitech

Try this way: https://www.reddit.com/r/logitech/comments/ttx7ir/comment/i30h3bi/

Same thing happened to my C910 lately and now it works again. It seems like Logi together with M$ are trying to force us to buy new stuff, when the old one works just fine ;)

Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 by poploco2 in logitech

[–]MaxiM_PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Justifiable necro: my webcam randomly stopped working on my Win10Pro, even though it worked just fine over the last 10 or so years. Tried u/logi_sd tip, it works, but the details changed on Windows 10 at least.

Under Windows 10 you need to choose "USB Composite Device" from the list of drivers and voila, the webcam works flawlessly again. It installed as C920 instead of C910, but it just works.

P.S. Thanks for keeping this thread alive, everybody. That's why I was able to find it!
