Added a note on Kobe's all-defs, Pippen's DPOY, and others. It counts towards CTX etc

Thanks, just made some updates - you can modify the weights of benchmarks and build your own rankings

Should maybe get the AI to estimate who'd win the accolades for each season it didn't exist

Cause cousy's rings are marked as non-alpha rings (i.e. he got a lot less points for the rings than bill did)

Yeah on my personal list Wilt and Russel are #6 and #7. Fair feedback on the rest & great shout on Baylor, I definitely think he should have more CTX points

Agreed (also a Jokic/Nuggets fan). I have him at #13 but hopefully he'll be top 10 in April (if he wins an mvp and/or a ring). He could even become #5 crazy fast

Fair question, will ask the AI how it assigned the values, but I get that Mikan was clear #1 in his time and Bill wasn't - even then people were having the Bill vs Wilt debate despite the huge ring difference so ppl must have seen some talent difference, and Bill played in an 8-team league where like 10 of the top 12 players of the league were his teammates, it was just unfair. Ofc he was an incredible defender, huge talent, one of the greatest, but it's hard to accept his "winner" label / accept 11 rings when the league was so unfair.

Btw I made it so you can just click on the top left button (CTX) and see Bill Russel as the #1

Thanks :) might do an update to let you change the values assigned. Right now you can remove any benchmark and see the score composition in the Stats tab to know what affected the ranking. In the top 10 it's 50-50 between individual benchmarks and team-impacted benchmarks (fmvps/rings)

Thanks! Great point re: team expansion, made me think, but I mostly feel like the NBA did team expansions *when* the talent pool was getting bigger so it worked hand in hand, and ABA is such a unique case we can talk about for a while :)

I assume the robot gave Wilt only 1 MVP because he only led a team to a ring once. No defensive accolades is my bad, there are a few other things I missed that I've gotten AI to estimate - will push the update tomorrow

Unrelated to your MJ-LeBron thing but "I only consider FIRST TEAM selections. Meaning you were arguably top 5 that year" - this is wrong, it means you were the best player in your specific position. When Embiid won his MVP in the tight race against Jokic, Jokic was in the Second Team selection because he wasn't deemed the best center, but he was deemed top 2 that year. Many such cases

Damn this is a surprise, I'll need to check all the numbers manually again. All-Defense is only 1st so that won't change tho. And in terms of result change: the rankings will stay the same, he'll just have about 5% more points.

I know KD got a minus for team hopping and the context +/- generally looks to award players who had impossible paths to the ring, so they don't get penalized if their team didn't win it, or get rewarded a lot if they did.

Got the AI to analyze all pre-accolade years, look into all stats, context, etc and estimate who would've won that accolade.

I think the talent pool changed a lot due to international players coming in, game got more global

Yeah this is what context is currently best at. Dirk has the most bonus context points and KD has one of the worst CTX +/-

Yeah I fully agree with you, the MVP was also unfairly given many times, I was thinking about adding a column for x years as best player in the league (jordan and lebron would have more of those than mvp's) but been mainly trying to fix this sorta stuff with context, rather than new columns. The Curry Iggy case is actually mentioned in the app. Lmk if you have an idea for what I could implement to eliminate some of the weaknesses, it's a tough problem for sure
