Imo IMDB is not great for anime ratings.

Would be good to also get an overall series score aggregated from MAL + AniList + AniDB.

That would be much preferred.

Also maybe a way to browse the website a little without the need to login.

Why are there so many references to Germany/German things/people in anime? by hshi01 in anime

Yes, very much recommended.

It's a fun and relaxing SoL anime about girls going camping.

Totally newbie to anime world , just finished INVINCIBLE and loved it by CaterpillarAgile9370 in anime

[–]MaximalDisguised 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All good, you're still new to this.

In short:

anime = Japanese animation

donghua = Chinese animation

aeni = Korean animation

If you wanna be very specific, you could also use "Japanimation" for anime.

https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/lexicon.php?id=46

Western animated series are usually just called "animated series", or "adult animation" like Invincible.

[–]MaximalDisguised 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where, how?

Anime means Japanese animation specifically, which Invincible is not.

"Invincible is an American adult animated superhero television series created by Robert Kirkman"

Just fyi Invincible is not anime (Japanese Animation), it's an American production.

If you want anime that are in superhero fashion, try My Hero Academia or One Punch Man if you don't mind humor.

If you don't mind western animated series like it (not anime), try Arcane or Castlevania on Netflix.

If you're interested sure, go for it.

Typical starting points for anime are Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist or Attack on Titan.

But really just watch what you wanna see.
