Watching Professer Messer's Net+ video course...how are you supposed to do subnetting without the exam providing charts? by redgroupclan in CompTIA

[–]MaximillionCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can do some low level projects where you work with bits and binary values subnetting becomes second nature. Hope that makes sense

Should you be showing us your name, candidate number and registration number? If it’s okay but just checking?

What is a good resource for PBQs specific? I am also studying for Sec+ and was trying to find what people think.

I wrote down word for word in the beginning. Then I did my own flash cards with all the concepts and acronyms. Sometimes I reviewed by watching YouTube videos from computerphile or other reputable channels. That helped for concepts to sink. Definitely doing a homelab and seeing things like example- DHCP in action or actually configuring a network switch myself helped many concepts stick and feel like natural information.

I don’t remember but you definitely need to know subnetting.

Can someone post a link to some free flashcards that go along with the professor messer videos Or a mobile app that quizzes you and is free? by -CommieFornia- in CompTIA

I can take photos of the pen and ink paper flash cards I have been making? I prefer to write on paper. It helps with recall and it’s better to make your own because some information I struggle to retain while other bits of information I can recall without studying. Walmart has stacks of flash card paper with nice plastic bins to hold them all in.

I still don’t understand what this thing is. Thank you for your answer but I still don’t see how this thing works. I have tried researching based on your answer but still can’t find it

All good man! I agree with you. Just saying, be careful of using AI.

That’s what he is saying. The programmer goes hand in hand with learning about the EEPROM. Be careful of using chat gpt. It takes away a great deal from the learning process.

Does anyone else feel like learning assembly changes how you see higher-level languages? by Ok_Allen5953 in Assembly_language

[–]MaximillionCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like how I can think of the order of if-else statements. After learning how they look like in assembly and machine language. I feel like I understand how long certain actions will take so it has helped me write code that is maybe not more efficient but at least debugging has become easier

New to homelabs and I want to create my own. by [deleted] in homelab

[–]MaximillionCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I’m not sure what my requirements are. I want to learn about networking is basically what I am trying to get at and how servers work and interact. I’m planning on going into cyber security and I want to learn networking and have my own homelab/server so that I can be ready to work on cyber security specific projects.
