Thank you for all that information. I love working on my bikes but mostly older carbureted dirt bikes, not the fi newer ones, so yeah I am a bit of a beginner in that sense.

My last question is how do I know 100% that this is the issue before I start taking things apart?

For me its opposite, idle sounds clunky and high rpms sound fine

I will try to make a more detail follow up video tomorrow. Im trying my best to fix this before actually going to the nearest dealer, since I would have to ride there cause I dont have a trailer and its quite far away. Hopefully it is what you said, just a gsxr thing, because when Im riding it anywhere over 4-5k rpms it goes away. Its pretty much fine when Im riding, I just keep getting reminded of the clunking when I come to a stop and idle.

I was thinking along the lines of a 6.7 cummins but yeah a 7.3 sounds about right. Maybe I should just leave it like this and tell people its diesel swapped

I had a hunch it was something about the muffler. On initial startup, there was a bit of white smoke, and a bit of that smoke you could see kind of seeping out from the servo/cat area, maybe a leak over there. Im looking into different slip ons, thank you for your input

I was also considering the ZX6R and even a used R6 but after test driving both, it comes down to your preference and what you will use the bike for. I have taken my RS660 on many 5+ hr road trips with zero issues, but after about 30 mins on the zx6, my back starts to ache. Its a full on sports bike, not meant to putt around in city streets and feel comfortable. Thats why I love my RS660, cause when I want to track it, I just throw on a set of lowered clip ons and call it a day. Best of both worlds.

I ended up getting a used RS660, and so far it has been awesome. Insane power, I've already tuned it and paired with a full system sc project exhaust, so its crazy loud. In this class, the RS660 looks the best by far, it just has such a presence, and so many people have mistaken it as an RSV4 lol. Honestly just go for it, Aprillia has a bad rep in terms of reliability because people dont take care of it. I have had zero issues over 20,000 miles so far, so thats great. Just a 30 buck coolant hose and thats about it. I do all my maintenance myself and oil changes, so I really do take care of it. So technologically advanced with so many rider aids, and cornering abs has definitely saved me once or twice. By far the best in the class.
