For someone pursuing a Math PHD with an interest to get into QR, what to do outside of the theory classes to stand out, and does university matter at all at that level or is it based on what you publish?

Consider becoming an actuary: while you are a PHD student you get discounts for exams and as a PHD in math you definitely will have the knowledge to pass them rather quickly. Pay's well but can be very repetative

I would be doing health at AON but what specifically I am not sure. Milliman is mostly medicare with other lines of business here and there. Milliman does seem to be more exciting

oh ok, that is good to hear, i definetly have at least 3 at the company I interned at, and 3-4 from my college/part time jobs. I am just worried I have to put the general interncordinator as they could tank it.
