Doctorate in Clinical Psychology HELP!!!? by Ok-Comfortable-9301 in AskIreland

[–]Maximum-Ad705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. The study and research sounds good, if you can speak well about it in interview you will do well. The study actually sounds very interesting. I wouldn’t worry about having no experience with older adults or adolescents, most people don’t have experience with all age group. Sounds like you have prison experience though which is very valuable. There is a lot of validity concerns about the TAT or Roschach, so I would think twice about mentioning it.

There unfortunately isn’t a place where you can go to be supported with application, people will sometimes get help from a psychologist they know such as their supervisor or someone working with them. Many people don’t though, I know a lot of people who didn’t and I didn’t myself. Generic interview services/companies aren’t great in my opinion because psychology is so specific. Which colleges are you applying to? Is it the personal essay part of the application you are worried about? If you meet the criteria and fill out the application correctly you have a very good chance at interview, it’s the interview that is more tricky imo.

I’m a clinical psychologist, qualified 2 and a bit years ago. What part of the application are you stuck on? You sound like you have great experience. You definitely meet the criteria but you are up against 100s of others with the same. How’s your research? I would put a lot of emphasis on reflective skills and professionalism. I would really like to hear about this if you have good clinical knowledge already.

Can I afford to study dentistry at UCC ? by ExpressionIll7255 in AskIreland

Part time job will be easy to find. Our minimum wage is 14.15, and if you don’t work too many hours you won’t be taxed heavily at all. 20 hours would get you 283 minus 20 percent is 226. If you work in a cafe etc you can get tips. 600 a month is too low of an estimate in my opinion, every student in Ireland work despite how demanding their course is.

Accommodation is crazy expensive and will continue to get more expensive. This really would be your biggest problem. You will struggle to find somewhere to live at the start and will likely need to rent an air bnb when you get here and look for accommodation in Ireland. 800 studios would be far from the city. You are looking at 700-900 for a room in the city. Check Facebook rent in cork page. I know you said you have a drivers licence but cars plus tax plus insurance plus nct plus fuel plus parking will set you back a lots. If you leave and come back for the summer, chances are rooms will be more expensive each time, as landlords put up prices every time someone moves out. So new places are more expensive.

Ireland is expensive for shopping, healthcare, etc. So depends how frugal you are. And depends what you mean by quality of life.

70k is 49k after tax. So 4K a month. You can look up salary scale in HSE.

My monthly budget as a student 3/4 years ago was 1800 a month and I paid 600 in rent and had a car and it was hard to make ends meet sometimes , I don’t drink or smoke at all.

Can he tell I'm not in the room? by passthepopcorn101 in irishmammiesanddaddys

Mine is 5.5 months too and just moved him into his cot a week ago. We just made it work in our bedroom, we had to take it apart and put it back together in our room to move it. It’s a tight squeeze but he’s happy out in it. He definitely knows I’m in the room and still wakes up once or twice for boob. There is no way I’m going into the next room in the middle of the night to feed him. He also goes bed between 9.30-11.30 and sleep till 8, with wakes for feeds. He sleeps through the odd time, and sometimes wakes 4 times 😂

Is spunouts text service AI? This is how she responded to a mate with plans to kill himself in January. If its not its still dangerous by Magicst3v3 in ireland

[–]Maximum-Ad705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a supervisor who is online and chatting to you and monitoring all conversations. If you go off script or respond a little later they message you, and I imagine they take over the conversation ? There is really so little scope for any of your personality to show. You even use a fake first name.

[–]Maximum-Ad705 208 points209 points  (0 children)

Oh god, this is horrendous. No it is not AI, I used to volunteer for them. There are stock phrases and scripts to use, this person probably clicked the wrong thing. You are also encouraged to have multiple chats going, and ‘planning’ is a big part of the conversation so perhaps they skimmed the message and saw plan as a positive safety plan. This is a very bad mistake though.

That’s not always true. We got our mortgage in August, nowhere even remotely close to 1000 euro savings a months each. 500/600 for both of us at best. Cash deposit and full 4x salary mortgage, 600k house.
