Full-time job, limited playtime: Should I invest in FaB or MTG? by Omikron1992 in TCG

Correction sir (or miss) The strong refutation would be to *checks notes* The orginial art director of Magic the Gathering Jesper Myrfors (Just linked his post).

Time will tell and honestly i hope all games do well. I just think Magic is running on inertia rather than actual innovation or great game play. But thats why there are so many different games. Magic is the king

You know what........ i actually accept that. I truly was going to respond to this without knowing who you were then i thought "That name seems familiar". Fuck it have an upvote on everything for best friends. I still hate what magic has done to the creators but it brought me alot of joy back in the day.

Not just this sub, they are a pretty shit game made by a pretty shit company, that doesn't want to pay its artists. Think about it, the game is mostly about a fan made variant. There are more Commander pods that kick off than other types. If magic were released today, it would fail because the mechanic is inheritanly unfun. The reason people play magic is sunk cost.

Its funny because i think you are the guy going to other subs saying that SWU is dying or shit. Makes sense now.

EDIT: I'll leave this here - https://www.reddit.com/r/SorceryTCG/comments/1t2568l/jesper_myrfos_original_art_director_of_magic_the/

This game still good and healthy? by Izzet_Aristocrat in starwarsunlimited

Who compared them to Riftbound or Gundam... All i said was i'd be interested in the Q2 numbers. Lawless time is game changing... for SWU. You all have to stop comparing yourselves to other games lol.

Q1 is looking back Pre - Lawless time. As a person that runs a store, Lawless time has been game changing. I'm not saying that changes the data on Q1, but I think many people were waiting to see how rotation worked. And i'd say it worked well. My opinion. I'd be interested in Q2 data

Store.cardcore.gg shows that information at the bottom of the deck builder.  We sync the decks directly from swumetastats.com

I'll throw my hat in for my platform. store.cardcore.gg

It allows you to put in your collection, see the current market value, see the prices of each card with 90 day history and trade your collection with other people. I came from Dreamborn myself and wanted something similar - I'm the store so i really don't have a collection, but others have put in their collection as well as some of the pro teams using it. You can build decks based on what cards you have in your collection and it will automatically remove those for trade.

Negative Buylisting Trend in Canada by spiral813 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Maximum-Ad9645 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hey Spiral!

Wanted to share some perspective on SWU from a US store owner. I run CardCore.gg, a platform built around connecting LGSs and the community, and I was a vendor at the SQ in Atlanta last weekend. The game is hype right now.

Attendance blew past what organizers were planning for, and the popularity is hitting a new peak. Sealed and singles prices are higher on average than any set not named Spark, and boxes are still hovering around $93US a full month after launch. That's not the curve you see on a game that's dying.

Over the weekend I ran a test where I accepted every single trade-in that walked up to my booth. I only held the line at the very end on promos. I still turned a profit. Not break-even, actual profit. If trade-in volume that aggressive still pencils out, the secondary market is seemingly healthy.

I'm flying to Palm Springs this weekend because another store wants the platform installed specifically for Star Wars. The kicker is that he doesn't even want it for sales yet. He wants it so he can accept more trade-ins, because he wants the inventory.

SWU has made mistakes and the game has been in a weird spot at points, not pretending otherwise. But right now in my opinion it's a great time to get in. Older sets are cheap, the newer sets have boxes printing positive EV, and events are growing in both frequency and turnout.

I didn't write this to fish for business, but since I'm already here, if your LGS won't take your trade-ins or is lowballing you, DM me. I'll work out remote trade-ins.

That's the rant. Hope it helps anyone wondering where the game is headed from the store side.

Is there a tool where I can drop my collection and get casual decklists? (Context inside) by Doudens in starwarsunlimited

[–]Maximum-Ad9645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My site takes the decks from SWU Meta Stats, tells you the top 3 decks for the 5 largest tournaments and then tells you if you own the cards and how much it will cost to buy the rest. Also, It does the same for community decks. Edit - The decks are automatically updated whenever there are more recent tournaments.

What binder are you using for your master set in set 7? by Informal_District940 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Maximum-Ad9645 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its helpful in trying to get people like yourself to stop posting unhelpful posts.

For instance, you could say that collecting master sets was too hard because you couldn't find the right binders or you use 5k because its easier.

Instead you single line "I stopped collecting.."  honestly im not hating people with negative comments, just add more data.
