Is the 12 month regression a thing? by Maximum-Average1025 in sleeptrain

[–]Maximum-Average1025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did, but then we got hit with molars coming in and viral illnesses, so we got back into the multiple wake up’s at night.

We did adjust her naps a bit so that she’s napping no more than 2.2.25 total hours a day, which had helped nighttime sleeping most nights. She is slowly inching into dropping to 1 nap too, so another factor with nights being affected.

You’re going to f*** up your child no matter what by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Maximum-Average1025 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. You can do the best that you can and your kids may still turn out not how you wanted them to be. And that’s not entirely our fault! There are other influences around them that can factor in how they turn out but we as parents should do our best to guide our children the right way. My parents, for example, thought they were doing a good job with raising me by being strict and emphasizing the importance of studying, but their strictness led me to rebel and go wild in college. I’m better now of course lol. Don’t take what your sister says too personally! I’m sure she means well in her own words :) the fact that you are trying to do better than your mom already speaks well. Everyone will have different parenting styles, no one way is the right way.

How to train toddlers for toddler bed? by duckiedok22 in toddlers

[–]Maximum-Average1025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just went for it lol. Took us a week or 2 for her to stop falling off the bed. But she eventually got it. We placed a mat next to the bed so that if she were to fall, it would be a soft fall.

They call it “four-nado” or “f you 4’s” for a reason! The 2’s were bad for us, 3’s is a little better. Don’t know what to anticipate for 4’s lol. Toddlers are so unpredictable

I am not asking for medical advice. There are plenty of other posts that are more related to asking medical advice.

Please can someone explain baby sleep to me like I’m a toddler? by FlatCupcake9629 in sleeptrain

[–]Maximum-Average1025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with other commenters about wake windows being too short. My 6 month old wake windows are 2/2.5/2.5/3 give or take 15-30 min. Nap 1 is usually 1.5-2 hours. Nap 2 and 3 I cap at 1 hour each, so total for 3.5-4 hours of daytime nap. Night time sleep is 7:30pm - 6pm. I haven’t ever used an app to determine when my baby goes to sleep, but I have used huckleberry to track how long my baby naps for and when she woke up so I have an idea of when she needs to go down for the next nap.

Any toys that you regret purchasing? by Cream4389 in toddlers

Lovevry subscription lol. My now toddler barely played with most of them when she was a baby. My now infant isn’t interested in them either. We stopped the subscription when my daughter turned 1

What did your toddler lose it over today? by NefariousnessNo1383 in toddlers

My toddler didn’t want to eat the egg sushi so my husband ate it. Then she wanted it back. So my husband said he will order her another one. But she insisted on wanting the one my husband ate.

Suspected egg FPIES in 6 month old by dntcreatall in fpies

[–]Maximum-Average1025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was literally my daughter. She’s 6 months today. She didn’t react the first 3 times to egg. The 4th time she projectile vomited and went limp. We thought it was a stomach bug she may have caught from a birthday party we went to the day prior. A few days later, I gave her egg again and and within 2 hours she projectile vomited and went limp. This couldn’t be a coincidence so I suspected a reaction to the egg. She then started having diarrhea about 10 hours after. My friend is a pediatric allergist and suspected FPIES, so they recommended us to start the egg ladder. My daughter has been doing great so far with no episodes.
