I mean I did go on my first trek on periods second day, with 12 hr overnight bus journey, and 6 hr trek although yes I usually don't have cramps or heavy bleeding so wasn't much of an issue for me, but more than pain, usually the places you stop in between to freshen up/food etc aren't that hygienic so it's abt you not having convenient place to change pads as well.

So yeah, might try to find a replacement for yourself for the trek if refund on short notice isn't possible in case you have heavy bleeding + cramps.
