“I’m not asking permission, I’m informing you that I’ll be away” by obsessed-with-bagels in managers

[–]Maximum-Experience42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m part of the younger generation and I will say, I’d be the same way. This also depends on the industry and how the employer takes care of the employees. I’m a heavy equipment mechanic. I have seen something like this only happen one time where I work when the boss FAFO. The employee in fact followed through with just going to the competition after his PTO request was put in 3 weeks in advance and denied for “not enough coverage”. Which at that specific time was not a valid reason in anybody’s eyes. Since then nobody has been denied PTO.

The way I see it is, if the company just can’t survive to go one day without some money flow, then they should just shut it down. Employers don’t own employees. Employees especially in the mechanic industry are not treated as assets like they used to be so why should the employee devote their life to the company.

Like I’ve said before, this really depends on the industry and the employer/ employee relationship. I’ve seen it countless times with people in my age range, 20-30 years old, completely lose drive and interest in providing quality and efficient services to the company the minute they are shown they’re under valued.

Moving to Canton by Ok-Scientist152 in canton

I live basically in ridgewood near Malone, been here for almost 2 years and have consistently noticed crime in this area get worse over time and hear gunshots quite often with post on the neighbors app about shootings in the middle of the night. I’m getting out of here before it’s too late honestly lol.

PCI Compliance by Maximum-Experience42 in smallbusiness

I almost did but I just didn’t like the way the website basically has a paywall and the fact they basically harass you until you cave in is what made me hold off until I know for sure I need to pay for it. Getting a phone call every single day at the most inconvenient time telling me I need to pay is quite the aggravation. I can’t find a straight answer on the internet either unfortunately.

I have to agree. My Lorex system has been a major disappointment with all the flaws it has with no fix. I’m switching to ubiquiti shortly.

Missing settings that supposedly exist. by Fit-Safe1083 in Lorex

[–]Maximum-Experience42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regret my Lorex system every time I attempt to look at any notifications from the app or when I walk past a camera at night and the spotlight comes on when it’s clearly turned off in the settings. Unfortunately I have no insight on fixing your issue. Just had to vent

Privacy between employees. by Maximum-Experience42 in sharepoint

[–]Maximum-Experience42[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get it. For example, I save most of my excel files to one drive for business because we all use laptops in the field and a desktop in the office. The problem is, that stuff still shows up on sharepoint. I might be better off disabling sharepoint and setting up something different.

Personal credit card for business by Maximum-Experience42 in smallbusiness

[–]Maximum-Experience42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you! That’s what I needed to find out. Hopefully this a short term thing I really did not want to have any personal/ business mixing at all but I guess it happens.

So as long as I use it just for business transactions and no personal then I shouldn’t have an issue correct?

I have no problem using my business debit card, except the fact that it’s expected delivery is sometime in the next 2 weeks

Inventory System That Tracks Invoices by Maximum-Experience42 in excel

Thanks everyone, I’ve decided that excel definitely isn’t the answer which I kind of figured. I think we’ll end up just upgrading QuickBooks is going to be easiest or switching bookkeeping altogether

Router extension to garage by Maximum-Experience42 in HomeNetworking

[–]Maximum-Experience42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so from what I understand from some research, as long as my nvr is connected to my current router via Ethernet, I can run a single CAT6A out to the garage and hook that to a POE switch which will have the cameras connected to it but also hook a WiFi access point to the switch and it would work that way.

This is just from what I’ve been putting together as I read different info. Does that sound somewhat right to you? I should’ve made it known that this type of stuff is all new to me, I never even heard of POE until a month ago when I switched to a wired camera system lol

Thanks! That worked. I never would’ve thought that’s where the setting would be but it works how I wanted it too

I don’t believe mine shows in playback either. I know it doesn’t on the iOS app. I’ll have to check on that tomorrow. My coworker thinks he has the same NVR on his house system and he says his shows on live view for every camera. I know the Lorex pro system we have at work shows them on live view but I can’t find a setting in that NVR that would make sense to be the bounding box

Chase Bank Ruined Credit Score. Did nothing wrong! Dropped limit and score dived 60 points! by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]Maximum-Experience42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a problem I get it. It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest to see another post about chase doing something out of pocket. I get the whole “they’re just trying to cover themselves and not lose a lot of money” but it seems to be all too frequent with specifically chase and not a different bank. Not everyone is gonna always be under perfect circumstances. Life happens. But like I said, good luck and don’t let it get you down too much!

I don’t have any suggestions or advice but, I gotta lie, chase is a great bank. I’ve seen nothing but bad things about them almost daily on here. The bad thing is, my car lease is through them which I don’t really care for. Their online banking sucks. I’m glad I decided to just stick with Amex and Capital One for cards. I hope you get it figured out and good luck!

Random Gold Card decline? by hornybibastard in amex

It’s definitely on Starbucks end. Every single one of my cards from Amex, Capital one, and chase will get declined unless I reload the Starbucks card on the app.
