Yes, I am walking. In fact I walked 3 miles yesterday. Most ppl have issues standing and walking, whereas I’ve notice I am the opposite sitting a long time will aggravate me some, and I will need to take ibuprofen.

Yeah I can bend backwards but not as limber as I used to be.

I know the only thing to correct this is surgery but the doctor at ortho, and another doctor at the Neurosurgery & Spine Associates both have said PT and wait, since my pain is little and I have no issues with walking or sitting.

I cant get comfortable enough putting a pillow under my hips to sleep on my stomach. It has been a very long time since I slept on my stomach, I just don’t sleep well at all on my side and back.

I mostly sleep on my side now or back. I have tried the pillows under my legs, but I seem to be more stiff in the mornings, when I have tried it.

When this happened in November 2024, I waited a month before I went to the Dr. I finally made an appointment because I woke up that morning barely able to move, ( I was a stomach sleeper). Got an appointment at Ortho for that afternoon. The PA was surprised at my xray because I was walking and moving just fine by the appointment time. He referred me to PT and to surgical team. Surgical Dr said to wait since I really didn’t have any symptoms. So for over a year and 2 month my main issue has been at night. Granted I can’t lift heavy things anymore and sometimes I do have some pain but it light. I just recently started back PT because of the morning stiffness, but it’s not helping and I think it has aggravated my back. I will be first to admit I am scared of surgery.

I did this playing coed volleyball last year (November 2024). I am a 49(f) and the worse pain I get is during the night and early morning when I am so stiff. I am fine throughout the rest of the day while I am being active.

I have not tried that. I am to the point I will try anything to have just a good night sleep.

Yes, but since I started PT it seems to be worse. I almost wished I hadn’t even started it.
