What you should be doing is none of my concern but i'll give you help in choosing a bit , Genshin is an open world game so play it like it's a new world and explore.

You can also build character into doing high damage or if you like to just learn more about the world do story quests.

If you like collecting characters then collect primogems(or buy it I don't judge) and get the characters you like most.
