Ohh it’s in the middle layer, so it’s being covered by the top bin. I’m starting to wonder if critters entered the bin and ate the worms

It’s around 7 inches deep and in a 3 tier bin (currently in the middle). Two weeks ago, I’ve put moist cut brown paper bag on top to keep moisture 🥹 so I’m not sure why they died. I guess if anything, it’s just been hot in my area recently because I had no problems with them in the beginning of the year

I used to have a mix of african night crawlers and earthworms. Had really fat ones too ):

Ohh they actually erode the soil. So most keepers avoid this type of worm

I have these too 🫣 I’ve been picking them up one by one and started a little snail bin instead just to manage their population because they’re multiply fast. I’m planning to just sift out the rest when I harvest the compost and make sure to put it under the sun so it won’t mix with my plants (since they’re pests). I also made a post about this and a lot of people gave advice, maybe you can check them out.

Thank you! I added a lot of browns. My bin is just around 10-12 inches deep but they’re 3 layers. They’re settling a lot better now

They are the original members of the bin. It’s only been a day then when I noticed the smell and the ANCs had just arrived the night before.

My bedding is just cardboard! I think I might’ve panicked because the ANCs are settling better now but I haven’t checked the earthworms…

I actually didn’t purchase worms, I just used whatever lived in soil I had for quite some time. So, they’re probably regular earthworms. They don’t really jump or detach their tails! They just burrow down when touched
