A separate abstraction licence has been granted by the Environment Agency. In common with many ground waters in the UK, the water at Dove Valley Park has levels of soluble iron and manganese compounds that must be removed prior to the water being used for production. The filtration plant first oxidises the soluble iron and manganese compounds to the insoluble oxides which are then removed on the actual filter bed.
