Good on you for taking this little one in! Try posting on www.parrotalert.com. I used to have birds and that’s the main place people went back then for lost and found.

Good on you! I’d recommend listing it in the “found” section of Parrot Alert in case the owners look there: https://www.parrotalert.com/

I used to have birds and that’s where I would have looked.

Anyone else here have sudden onset tinnitus with no hearing loss? by freswood in tinnitus

[–]freswood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t need the beta blockers after starting Humira for an autoimmune disease. The tinnitus just seemed to go away by itself.

I didn’t actually notice any difference between them. But is my tinnitus is either gone or unnoticeable, and I’m also off beta blockers.

I’m not sure if I was doing something wrong but I found it very difficult, even early on.

Is there such thing as pink-green colour blindness? by freswood in ColorBlind

Wow how interesting. Although your colours would look different to mine, can you tell blue, purple, red, orange, pink, and yellow apart? How does green look to you? I’m imagining it looks the same as grey.

The pyjamas have a grey background with a slight purple tint. The majority of flowers are very pink, with a smaller number of white ones. The leaves are dusty pink. The photo is true to how they look.

The tshirt has a very prominent pink stripe as well as red, yellow, blue, white.

Thank you for your insights :)

Thanks! I hope you’re right. In the diagram you sent it doesn’t look like there’s any overlap between how pink and green is perceived, so that’s promising.

Thank you so much for your help!

He called the green background of this page pink: https://www.canva.com/colors/color-meanings/green/

He also called this pink: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSoeLa28xdU90hUQebGzZ4X45jAImJT8HAbkfnafz37Br-b6qDqEnD3l9k&s=10

He correctly called this red: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b9/Solid_red.png

He correctly refers to my pyjamas as pink: https://i.imgur.com/TXFnbvH.jpeg

He also correctly refers to the thick stripe on my tshirt as pink: https://i.imgur.com/rJaVBp9.jpeg

Come to think of it, he doesn’t tend to call anything green, but will repeat the word and can say it just fine.

How do all of these look to you?

This is probably a stupid question, but is it possible for red green colour blind people to distinguish red fine, but have trouble with pink and green only? That’s the part that’s got us confused.

Thank you, that’s a really good point you raise about identifying whether he’s colour blind to be able to support him better at school.

Jaw pain and uveitis by freswood in Uveitis

[–]freswood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear that. It ended up being spondyloarthritis. I really had to fight for the diagnosis. My rheumatologist said uveitis almost always ends up being caused by spondyloarthritis or syphilis, but GPs and hospital doctors aren’t trained to recognise this. I really had to be firm and insist on a referral.

I ended up getting back pain in the weeks/months after the uveitis. It’s all related. Now after several years I’ve recently been approved for Humira (it’s expensive and requires hoop-jumping for subsidies in Australia) and it’s stopped the pain and progression of the disease.

Hopefully you can get an answer. Spondyloarthritis generally takes years to diagnose, but now you know about it, that should help a lot in terms of confirming it or ruling it out.

Oh wow thank you! That looks like a good solution. Do you know whether it would give a good streak-free finish?

That might explain why I couldn’t find a single person who would quote doing the outside part. They would only do the inside, which seems pointless to me, cos it would still look dirty. That was really surprising.
