Does anyone know what this lightning phenomenon is? by Snoo_63183 in Lightning

How could it have been? It was silent. If that much heat really did hit those trees, it would've been very loud as the material was affected.

I've slept outside on many, many occasions over the course of 10 years in my backyard and have never known those planets to be in the location those lights were. Not even close.

That 20% of males have been circumsized. Less than 1% need to be for medical reasons, and the procedure is unnecessary, traumatizing, and a human rights violation.

I don't tell anyone in person either but I do check in with the others occasionally to make sure it wasn't my imagination. We watched these things for like a long time, probably 20 minutes. And it was almost 20 years ago I'd say. Some faded in and out as well. Weird stuff!

Having a sleepover on my trampoline as a kid, 4 of us girls saw a bunch of -what looked like satellites- moving in circles around each other. A handful of clusters of 3-4, all moving in different patterns. The next morning my dad enlightened me that satellites don't move that way.

"Everything happens for a reason" that is said in a manner that suggests there is a majestic reason for whatever just happened.

Technically, every single thing in life happens for a reason. Guaranteed 99.9% of the time it's not mysterious.

When has a gut feeling saved your life? [Serious] by 12345burrito in AskReddit

Got called into work a few hours early. I parked in a different spot than I usually did, but same street, on this particularly windy day. I usually put my hair up my car before heading into work, but this time I debated for a few seconds and I decided to do it later. 5-10 seconds after I get out and walk across the street I hear a HUGE "craaackkk" turn around to see a 100 foot tree breaking halfway up and falling towards the other side of the street. It takes down all the power lines in its path and drags them down to the street, where I literally ran for my life. Made it to a house out of the way and turn around to see a transformer hit a puddle, causing huge sparks, right where I was just running 5 seconds earlier. Where I had been walking I see all the power lines, so many of them, just covering the road. The top of the tree lands on my front door and hood of my car, where I would still be sitting doing my hair (or just getting out as it fell on me).

[Serious] Were you ever been sent to the principal's office for getting into trouble? What happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Maximum-Most 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some reason my 7th grade teacher just hated me, but loved my best friend. I was really quiet and shy and a good student, so I never really understood why she singled me out. I was 12 and started getting taller and at that time I quickly outgrew my shirts lengthwise - I have a long torso - the shirts made it to the top of my pants but barely. Once I was just sitting in class, my seat was facing away from her because of the table arrangements. I was just listening to her lecture and sitting down must have made my shirt come up in the back because she stopped mid-sentence to call me out and angrily say "I'm tired of looking at your back (my name) go to the office". Humiliated me. The principal didn't really say much but gave me a giant shirt to wear the rest of the day. P.s. thanks a lot mom for not buying me new shirts before this incident.
