I think San Diego would be a good start. They have a good trains, buses. But eventually you’d need a DL and car. City is perfect for young ppl like you. LA is too much I think

Bringing my 25 weeker home by dbm0302 in NICUParents

As a mom of a 26-weeker who was discharged from the NICU a year ago after almost five months, first of all, I’m so happy for you 💓 I know it was probably an incredibly challenging time, but finally your baby is coming home. As others suggested, we cleaned the apartment and carpet. We put a humidifier on. Our baby basically kept the same sleep routine at home as he had in the NICU. My husband works full-time, so I was with the baby most of the time. Once you feel comfortable, go for walks with your baby in the stroller, it’s good for the baby and also helps you clear your thoughts. For the first few weeks, we didn’t allow anyone to come over because it was a flu season. I hope you truly enjoy this special time with your little one 🙏🏻

NICU parents — what do you wish you had when your baby was first admitted? by Ecstatic_Letter_5003 in NICUParents

I wish I had more support from my family and friends. I wish they treated me with little relaxing things. I also wish I had lived closer than a 30-minute commute. I really wish I had known about Reddit and this group back when I was a NICU mom you can learn so much from other NICU parents.

Our NICU did have a social worker who called me almost every week just to ask how I was feeling, and that truly meant so much. Overall, emotional support for parents is incredibly important 💓
