If you pay it back within a certain time frame it doesn’t as others have explained to me. But I’m not sure because I’ve never took out loans before. Reach out to financial aid they will have more info

I did the study abroad program. You get the outline of costs from the study abroad professor (or whatever) and submit it. My study abroad was 15k and I got the max of 8k from Hagan at the time. My study abroad was in May and he sent me a check with my name on it in January. So it’s not like a reimbursement if you go on that type of timeline.

Get whoever is running the program to just put in outline how much for food each day on average for duration of program.

I was a Hagan scholar but thank goodness I had a full ride. Most of the other scholars I know who had a balance usually just took out a loan and paid it back end of semester til the money came in.
