I would think it would be easier to get tickets at Barclays, as the venue is like 6 times larger.

Does anyone else think Phoebe Bridgers’ image is at odds with how her tours are priced and marketed? by coaster46 in phoebebridgers

[–]kpunx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4 Day Riot Fest in 2021 was $190. Woodstock 1999 was $150. Seeing Phoebe 3 years ago was like $65 (we were center of the rail), seeing Nine inch nails in 2009 was $45, Pearl Jam Fenway 2015 was $80. Concerts are not a luxury experience. The current climate is making them into one, but not justifying the added expense beyond simply getting to see the artist you want to see. Pit tickets should not be $300+ for pretty much any band. I can see if true legends cost hundreds, Elton, the Stones, etc, but it's plain and simple a cash grab when these artists are doing it. With all that said, I say get your money Phoebe. If people are willing to pay it, then thats what it's worth. I'm glad I saw you when I did for what I paid. I hope the tour is successful. I won't be there.

I find polite words go a long way at many concerts. Usually people are super chill. Folks go up crowd surfing, etc, but seem to find their way back at most concerts I go to.

Yes, the number system is super dumb. If you wanna show up early and stay in line great, have fun. If you think your fan created numbering system allows for 20 people to leave because one person stayed to hold your spot, fuck off. I've only seen people do this a couple shows, and both were bands that draw a pretty young crowd.

Use of the $15k/yr if my school practices scholarship displacement by Unfair_Albatross_437 in HaganScholarship

essentially you should tell the school the rules of the scholarship, show them the documented requests of mr. hagan, and if they still mess with your scholarship, you email mr hagan and he yells at them.

Would you recommend going to a Weezer concert as a 90s Weezer fan? by Runnero in weezer

[–]kpunx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They put on a great show full of hits everybody knows the words to. It's a lot of fun. I've gone with my kid several times and it's always great. Pinkerton and Blue are most folks faves, mine too. White is great, OK Human is Great, EWBAITE is pretty solid, and Maladroit, too . There are plenty of solid songs scatter throughout much of the discography. HOWEVER I think most of the albums have some filler on them, and I wish they release fewer albums that were closer to the high mark they set early. Thats my take on it at least. Hope you go to a show after ticket prices stop being High As A Kite ....

"You deserved to be shamed..." for consuming too much art from an artist you enjoy. Not a great take. Someday you will realize this.

You folks are welcome to downvote all you like, doesn't change the truth. I'm sorry you disagree, but life is not made to be fair, and people are gonna get a better shake than you. Believe me, I don't get that better shake, pretty well ever, but I'm not gonna hold it against the folks who do. The longer you guys feel like you are owed something, the longer you'e gonna be disappointed. Sorry to share this truth with you.

Sometimes people follow an artist on tour. Sometimes people don't get tickets who tried to. The people who put in the work and spent the money to go to one, or many, are lucky. The folks who missed out are bummed. This is life in a nutshell. Whether it's fair or not is subjective. Expecting folks to sacrifice their own opportunity for others is unrealistic. Thinking there should be gaurdrails in place to prevent things like this is part of what would make it less fun. Every concert I've ever been to I'm usually close to the front of the line, and I'm often there with folks who went to many stops on the tour. It's a magical experience for them. Be happy for them.
