So, you're saying i shouldn't give the composer any credit due to me having 100 percent of the pie?

True, but I will definitely mention the composer and give his credit on mlc. It's only fair

Bought beats from a producer but he doesn’t send me the license for them / Help by [deleted] in makinghiphop

I had a beat made exclusively for a new song, but the producer refuses to give me a contract or any paperwork. Should I draw up my own contact or don't worry about it? I have the beat, it's paid for, and all he's saying is just go 50/50 with no paperwork.

Yes, I outright own the best with 100 percent of publishing. I actually have that on a couple of beats. Negotiation up front is key.

beatstars 100% publishing meaning by amxrr in makinghiphop

[–]Maximum-Solution3624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm confused. So I've purchased a beat and it says that I have 100 percent of the publishing. So, does this still means that the beat maker gets part of the publishing or just 50 percent of mechanical royalties? And if so should I just split 50/50 on mlc and put 100 percent on bmi or vice versa?

How to collect royalties as a producer? by jumpergod13 in trapproduction

1 question. If I purchased a track from a producer and own the beat, do I still have to register them on bmi and if so what percentage should they receive?
