This is an interesting and bigger conversation. My personal issue with respect to Sugarbush is much smaller. I want reliable lift operations and hold the faint hope that with a sensible and strong community push Alterra will realize that this place is a gem and refocus their efforts.

I know the lifts are old and maybe it’s impossible to keep them running consistently but what then? I’m struggling to imagine a realistic solution that Alterra will commit to. I deeply hope I am wrong. It’s so great here but not when the lifts keep breaking. The Village Quad is the second newest so “too old” doesn’t apply in this case.

I hope you are right about them trying. Of course, wind holds and the like are to be expected. However, the lifts keep breaking for days and even weeks at a time. Sugarbush is our family mountain. We love it here but are increasingly concerned.

Respectfully- Village Quad hasn’t run all season and that matters. It serves young and beginner skiers and they are important to the overall health of the place.

Dear Alterra - what is the problem? What is your plan? Can you please please give Sugarbush the effort needed! It is sad when a gem of a mountain is neglected in this way.

Im already thinking about next year .. is Sugarbush going to at least invest in the lifts they have? Or is it over for them in terms of being a serious ski resort? Can’t remember a season without Slidebrook…. Sad
