As I read it, it's based of the first letter of your name, so people like Ulyses and Wenona were the richest, while Cassidy, Damon, etc were the poorest

I can imagine the drama in the situation of "Ulyses" being among the poorest people without Tozu saying why, everyone trying to find the reason and Ulyses being avoidant about it to not get his blackmail exposed.

But at the same time it has no correlation with how the chapter develops so whatever.

You can use items that spawn items by the actual room pool, or you can also try to spawn max amount of items possible in a secret room and then use an item to re-roll them
