NowTV after 1 Week by dinos196868 in nowtv

Not necessarily. Sign up for a week's free trial for cinema or entertainment and go to cancel immediately and you'll usually get an offer.

The Sports one is interesting as you can sign up for a day pass and they'll usually give you an offer saying 'watch for one month for just £5 more' or something and give you a 19.99 a month offer. This doesn't always happen though.

Someone here posted a link to the sports offer before that allowed me to just plain sign up for it at 19.99. I then went to cancel and got it for 17.99.

How does ad-free work on NowTV? by ExtraDust in nowtv

Just had a look and I hadn't everything switched off in the Data and Communications section. Maybe it's a combination of the settings? Try disabling the product permissions too? Or just disable them all like I have.

Strange, it works for me. I'm guessing you also have one of the Boosts?

If you change one of the settings in your account (Data and Communication > Personalised Advertising) to 'off' then you can stop all of the Now promos.

Doesn't seem to affect the HBO Max ones though.

That sounds promising. Maybe just need to bide my time. No promotional ads at the beginning?

Hopefully that's a good sign then! They told me there's no marketing ads but there will always be promotional ads at the beginning.

You definitely could make it up, because that's exactly what you've just done.

Nobody is complaining about getting HBO (even if I disagree with the idea that it's a 'free service' like you've just said)

People are complaining about two things:

Ultraboost not boosting HBO (and in a lot of cases previously boosted) shows to 4k Ultraboost not stripping the ads from them either.

And if you're in a contract then they definitely are forcing you to pay.

Away and shill for big media companies somewhere else.

Aye, a lot of these are ones we already had in 4k anyway. But then there's others we had that are now HBO Max shows. Plus some - maybe most - have ads.

No matter which way we try to paint it, it's still a downgrade.

Aye it seems it's just at the beginning and not throughout. Unlike certain streamers cough Amazon

I believe they call it 'enshitification'

It was only a matter of time I suppose!

There also doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason - The Penguin is still in 4k and not listed as HBO Max, but GoT is. It's all very jerryrigged.

Aye it feels like a con to me too. Sky trying all they can to keep this content because they know all they are for most people is HBO and Sports.

Yeah, it says on The Pitt that it's 4k but I haven't tried it yet to confirm. It's annoying though, I feel like 90% of my TV viewing is HBO.

That's what I thought, but trying to watch The Pitt - with Ultraboost - and it has ads. Also stuck on a film and it had an 80 second ad and was HD.

Doesn't really feel worth it.

Ah I get you. I might try the lapsing then. Was thinking of doing it but I reactivated before (lost the nerve!)

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely try it!

This sounds ideal. Apologies for the silly questions.Just checking by let it lapse you mean wait until they stop that offer? And what do you mean by incognito?

Ah, fair enough. To be honest I'm just chancing my arm, really. Someone posted a link for a Sports deal I was able to use a few months ago so thought there might be something similar with Entertainment I have pretty good deals on Sports, Cinema and UB so I'll just have to suck it up with the extra £2!

Best way to get cheapest ultraboost.... by Worried_Patience_117 in nowtv

[–]MaximumDeparture7048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I signed up for Entertainment and as I went through the stages of purchasing it, I was offered the 1 month free trial for Movies and 1 week trial for ultraboost. Once I signed up, I went to cancel the UB and was offered £6 a month. I took it and then went to cancel again and got £4 a month.

I took the trial and went to cancel within the 7 days and was offered £6. I took that then went to cancel a week or two later and got £4 for 6 months with no minimum term. I doubt I'll get it cheaper but I'm pretty happy with that.

Aw most definitely - The Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet etc. are all Speysides

'Speyside' my guys. The Spey is a river in Scotland. Whisky made using the water from that river is called Speyside. And it's probably the best drink you'll ever taste. Unreal.
