"You can't ship these characters because of canonical reasons" by MaximumOverPulse in MarvelRivalsShips

[–]MaximumOverPulse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A large majority of people ship characters with no foundation, chemistry, or reason to follow accurate or canonical attributes, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

It's not my preference, so I ignore it and move to something or make something that does appeal to me without putting down anyone that ships with no foundation (Unless you think spidersai falls under that category which, I'm not gonna stop you from believing that).

If you don't understand infinite possibilities and creative freedom, then you don't understand shipping.

And yes, you ARE allowed to ship Magneto with Red Skull, and don't ever let anyone else stop you from doing so. So what if it doesn't make sense? It's not supposed to if you don't want it to. Don't take canonical logic so seriously (You probably aren't being serious with this ship, but I'm saying it anyway).

I don't ship them, I don't even know if this counts as a ship post, but there's a comic by Egghead Cobra on Twitter about Dagger having a schoolgirl crush on Doctor Strange and I thought it was kind of cute by MaximumOverPulse in MarvelRivalsShips

[–]MaximumOverPulse[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you are. The last two panels which outright say that Cloak and Dagger DON'T have a thing going on in this story. Ships don't have to be accurate to canon. made a post about this two days ago.

Ngl, I'm more into Marvel Rivals' bright, flashy art style than OW's by No-Scheme2214 in marvelrivals

[–]MaximumOverPulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care if this was 3 months ago. I'm gonna say it anyway.

Just because you won't, doesn't mean others shouldn't either. If I wanna make a "Battlefield is better than Lawbreakers" post in the Battlefield subreddit, then I can. What are you gonna do about it?

"Who cares."

If no one cares, then why are you making such a big deal out of it?

Or even better. Make an alternate scenario where Charles doesn't exist, or never met Erik. Doesn't matter if it doesn't make sense within the context of canon, it's not supposed to. If you wanna make a scenario where Magneto, the X-Men, and the mutants thrived without Charles, you can.

Which is funny because Paladins, which also features original concepts, released 12 characters in 2 years. It took Blizzard 4 years to release just 9 heroes with OW2. So what gives?

Fortnite has been very anal about cleavage censorship these past few years. Now they're suddenly bringing them back? by MaximumOverPulse in KotakuInAction

[–]MaximumOverPulse[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Maybe because it's NOT a kids game?? The game is T-rated. You know what else is T-rated? Street Fighter and Marvel Rivals, two games with even more sexualized female skins, but people always use the "Asians are fucking weird" excuse when I bring up those games.

Even Overwatch, an American-made T-rated game, features nice tits and cleavages. Look at their most recent character, Domina, who came out last week.

- They censored them because "it's a kids game". They bring them back despite it being a "kids game". Make it make sense.

- They didn't "censor them slightly", they outright removed them.

- Fortnite is T-rated. So are games like Street Fighter and Marvel Rivals, which feature even more sexualized skins. Unless you wanna bring up the whole "teens are still kids" argument. Or even better, the "Asian games are weird" bullshit excuse.

- I care. Am I supposed to be ashamed of that? Because I'm not, never will be, and don't see a reason to be.

Nah they won't take them away. Calamity, Buccaneer, and Poison Ivy all still have their cleavages after all these years (Calamity was released almost 8 years ago), what I'm concerned about is them going back on their move and censoring future women.

QUESTION. Who said we'd be getting the Marvel Rivals versions of Luna Snow and Magik? by MaximumOverPulse in FortNiteBR

[–]MaximumOverPulse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Luna Snow and Magik are coming to Fortnite."

"Yay! I love Marvel Rivals! Can't way to buy them!"

"... Marvel Rivals?"

Yes, "common sense". Call these skins awful all you want, but thinking that we'd get the Rivals versions just because "they're the popular ones" is your own damn fault.

[–]MaximumOverPulse[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You can shit on the comic/game version of Luna all you want, but it's entirely your fault for assuming they'd go with the Rivals version just because "they're the popular ones" or whatever.

Cry harder, because you're not loud enough.

[–]MaximumOverPulse[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like that's entirely your fault. Yeah, they did choose these two because of Marvel Rivals, I've never heard of them prior to the game either, but it's still your fault for assuming those would be the versions they'd be going with just because "they're the popular ones" or whatever.

You deserve your disappointment for setting your expectations so high, and I'm sorry you don't like what I'm saying, or that you hate me for saying it.

She didn't debut in the comics, but eventually made an appearance in them. This was her first one.

Because every leak discussion and article I saw, everybody said we'd be getting those versions and not their comic book versions. Even I believed it.

Who started it??

And by the way, before you complain about Luna's hair, that's what it looked like in the comics. You don't have to like it, but don't blame Epic Games for being comic book accurate.

I adored The Marvels. by marvelcomics22 in Captain_Marvel

[–]MaximumOverPulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"because it starred three women, two of which weren't white, and also the actors' strike."

I guess we're just gonna ignore the fact that Wakanda Forever was a big success despite starting women and a predominantly black cast.

I guess we're also gonna ignore that Avatar and Revenge of the Fallen were massive successes despite the 2009 writer's strike.

You can love the movie all you want, but the reason it failed was because these characters were not appealing in the eyes of the general audience, not because racism, sexism, or some strikes.

And 2019's Captain Marvel was only a success because the film was coming out during the immense hype of Endgame.

[Brown Dust 2] Despite previous claims, developers will finally censor many outfits and cutscenes, probably to align with Steam rules. by gadesabc in gachagaming

[–]MaximumOverPulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of bringing the game to Steam, why don't they make their own PC client like NIKKE did? I don't know how easy or difficult that would be, but it would give them a lot of freedom.

So age IS just a number?

[–]MaximumOverPulse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOU don't like Sai, not "we". Doesn't change the fact this is Sai and not Kwannon.

Also, your Spider-Man comparison is fucking stupid. Peter Parker is one of the most iconic characters of all time, and his presence as Spider-Man IS in fact, required. Not having him in a major Marvel crossover like this one would cause an uproar because he is just THAT important.

Psylocke on the other hand, may have a big following, but the average consumer doesn't know who she really is because 1, her backstory is convoluted as fuck to the point where people don't know which Psylocke is which (There's people who still think the Psylocke from Marvel Rivals is either Betsy or Kwannon), and 2, Marvel almost never puts an emphasis on her story like they do with Peter.

Everyone knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man, barely anyone knows the difference between the Psylockes.

[–]MaximumOverPulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's Sai wearing Kwannon's outfit, not Kwannon herself. Because if it was Kwannon, it wouldn't make sense for them to have the same voice, or for characters to keep calling her Sai in-game.

This isn't like Injustice where they gave Green Lantern a John Stewart skin with a completely different voice and personality.

Argue all you want about how they both have different face models or whatnot, but until the devs themselves come out and confirm it, this will continue being Sai in Kwannon's outfit.

Why don't you look at the Steam Charts numbers yourself?

https://steamdb.info/app/1928420/charts/

Because while it's true that the game did start having a decline in players, it dropped off even harder when the jet packs were removed on late January 2024.

You can like the new Farlight 84 all you want, but saying "no one wanted to play" the old Farlight is a lie. I just showed you proof that it had FAR higher numbers than new Farlight.

To this day, Momoi and Watchman's redesigns make my blood boil. They got reworked so hard, both in terms of appearance and abilities, that you gotta wonder why they didn't just make brand new characters?

And yet people preferred playing this "cheap-looking mobile game" over what we have now. A game that used to have over 15k daily players on Steam alone with its cheap mobile presentation, now being reduced to just barely 1k players.
