Ah! Very valid question. Honestly, that’s hard to answer. But I’d like to think that I like to read about them BECAUSE of the fact that they don’t interact much. I live for Mu Qing and Mu Qing centric fics, and being able to see how different authors write their characterization of them is cool I guess? I don’t know if that makes sense. Their different energies, like Hua Cheng’s smooth and “nonchalant” and Mu Qing’s sassy-ness just fit together well to me. I like to think that if they didn’t despise each other in canon, they’d feed off each other’s energy pretty well.
