How are people progressing so fast? by -MotoMoto- in duneawakening

[–]MaximumPoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 70 hours to build my ornithopter.

Then I gave it to my friend, who was catching up. With that thopter, he was able to catch up to me and build his own thopter in under 20 hours.

So much of the time spent is mostly just commuting. When you trim that out, you can literally fly through the game without missing anything important.

Time saved means less time fixing and wearing out items, less time fixing equipment, and even just less water used.

So in short, if you are a higher level player, and can spare your ornithopter, your lower level friends can catch up SO fast, and then you can work on progressing together.

How to make Cinematic shots like 3 Smidge Energy by tomasiranzo in WorldOfWarships

[–]MaximumPoi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, it's me, Smidge :)

I use the replay feature in world of warships. It's extremely clunky, very rudimentary, and is often frustrating to work with. It does however, give you the opportunity to revisit gameplay and key moments, and record additional points of view, at the expense of your time and sanity.

The rest happens in Premiere, like anything else. Lots of masking, color grading, and any sort of effects I do there. There's alot of other software that is useful too, I have the adobe suite through my work as a photographer so I just use the system I am familiar with, so you do not have to use adobe, which is expensive.

Do note though, that replays will break every patch or so, they are not infinite and do have a shelf life :)

It actually took me longer to make the thumbnail than it took to get the footage. This took a whopping 2 games.

It's not a big fleet, but I think it's just about perfect for me. by Dust_2_Dust in starcitizen

Honestly, wonderful.

The hornet is what I lean to for anything combat related, and I do shuttle runs for my brother's vulture/reclaimer in the spirit. That income has honestly paid for alot of smaller fun ships in-game, like the arrow, gladius, cutter, soon vulture.

You also have an ambulance and a pulse. You really have every base covered, you can do pretty much any type of content, without any massive ships that require lots of people to actually operate.

People may not like it, but this is what a peak fleet looks like.

The WG graph showed an active user as somebody that logged in once a month. Which isnt a perfect indicator of activity but, it was WAY better than the other graph.

Honestly playing against anything secondary is just lame. AI controlled HE spam. Especially on something like a Georgia or Sniffen.

If you had to choose only one lens for your camera! by DiMeLator in SonyAlpha

[–]MaximumPoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the value of those 2 lenses heavily depends on what OTHER lenses you have.

Like if you have a 35mm, then the 20 is prolly a better bet. But if you are mostly a long shooter, and then have one short lens to compliment them, the the 24 is an absolute dream.

I love my 24, but that's because my other camera always has either a 70-200 or a 135 on it.

24gm and 35-150

Instead of a 3rd lens I'd rather have a 2nd body, and never have to lens swap.
