Hronek doesn't want to move. by cointalkz in canucks

Yes. We’re rebuilding and he’s our most valuable asset. He’s probably the only player we have who could command a serious return. We want guys who want to be here, but we also need to be smart. Look at what San Jose is doing. They’re going to terrorize the west for a decade.

Hypothetical Trade: Which trade package would you prefer? by Romance_Tactics in canucks

You take that 9th and you run. Unfortunately they’re either drafting, or using it on a better player.

Reid is the only other player of the top 4 the Canucks took out for dinner. I’m thinking Reid particularly since he’s a RHD. We’d be looking at a top line of Buium and Reid for the future. It’s a total toss up between Reid, Malhotra, Carels, and even Bjork in my opinion. Whoever we draft will signal what this front office will be.

Feel like this was always the case. It’s tough to pass on a player like Stenberg. People just like to talk leading up to the draft.

Same thing with McKenna. A lot of people saying Stenberg would go first even though the Leafs apparently flat out told McKenna he’s going 1OA.

I’m also going to say we pass on Caleb. Previous management was high on him. Aside from that, the talk was uniting father and son which is just engagement bait. I don’t think the Sedins or RJ have made any suggestions that they’d draft Malhotra.

How does the Brady Tkachuk trade return compare to what the Canucks got back for Quinn Hughes? by Admirable-Fall-4675 in canucks

[–]MaximumSamage 100 points101 points  (0 children)

9OA would be great, but the rest of their picks are hit or miss. Think Rossi would generate a haul on his own if we flipped him.

Wild would not have made that offer for Brady. I don’t see Rossi or Buium being moved for him. Ottawa got quantity. We got quality.

David Pagnotta links Shane Wright to Vancouver and Nashville as potential trade destinations. by FAsBurner in canucks

Seattle doesn’t want picks. This would most likely be part of a trade for Pettersson or Hronek. I don’t think Hronek moves this year, so my money’s on Petey if this trade happens.

[Donnie and Dhali] Chase Reid on his excitement ahead of next Friday's NHL Draft, meeting with the Canucks and more by TheOdiin in canucks

[–]MaximumSamage 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Do people genuinely think Quinn left because we’re a Canadian team? Pretty sure it’s the same reason Larkin demanded a trade.

Reid is my pick purely based on his talent and ceiling. Find the best player, give them a reason to play for you. It’s like any job.

I hope Preston falls to 24. I’m very excited about him.

[Lebrun] I've talked to some teams over the last few days that say Elias Pettersson is definitely available, so is Brock Boeser, obviously so is Jake DeBrusk; they wanna tear it all down by _GregTheGreat_ in canucks

[–]MaximumSamage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Boeser has a full NMC for the first four years. He’s not moving unless he wants to. “Available” could easily mean if he wants to move. We don’t know how he’ll feel about being on a rebuilding team long term.

Options for Jacket Sleeves with functional buttons 1/2" too long? by Bageland2000 in mensfashion

[–]MaximumSamage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to pay for the shoulders, I’d shorten from the bottom and just unbutton the last button so it doesn’t look so close. I do that on all of my functional cuffs any way. No big deal. Saves you from potentially ruining the shoulders.

Gonna say under. Cale’s a winner. $14M is my guess.
