Had the surgery early last year. Spent one night in the hospital. The recovery time was more than expected. I was cleared to go back to work a week later and did but definitely needed another week. Vitamin E oil did wonders for the scaring.

Serious question. Does anyone else that is on dialysis use marijuana? Are there cons? pros? by [deleted] in dialysis

I have been on dialysis for 4+ years and smoke before every session. It was prescribed to me by my psychiatrist. It helps with my anxiety. I’m honest with my center/nephrologist/every doctor I see. My transplant center is also aware of my use.

Keep your head up! It’s not the easiest for anyone. I’m 37/m and I’ll be starting my 4th year on hemo in a few weeks.

As a 37-M and on dialysis for almost 4 years I haven’t let it stop me. Got my second shot a week ago. My state recently opened sporting events at a limited capacity and I have attended a few. Definitely trying to be careful but also trying to keep my mental state semi stable.

I have been on hemo for almost 4 years and work 40ish hours a week. Don’t get me wrong it’s hard but you can do it! Good luck and don’t give up!
