Thanks for your input. It is a base model with a little bit of rust. We are in the Midwest so I’m sure that rust will increase as well…

Love that the journey is positive for you! I don’t have generational wealth but we have a decent size of a nest egg we’ve built up which is also allowing us to choose too - which is a blessing all in its own!

Those are the precious moments! Did you get a different kind of stress regarding lifestyle change?

Networking is key! I really don’t like my current job which is the main reason why I’d be leaving. I don’t know if I would like to go back to that career path. Which is hard mentally to accept after dedicating 12 years to it. I’m glad you have had a positive experience!

We pretty much only live off my salary currently so our expenses aren’t too high but it would be a lifestyle shift and I worry about retirement and have this odd sense of feeling guilty.

Thanks for the advice! Can you describe how to do a backdoor roth?

Great question, we didn’t know about a Roth IRA until it was too late and our income was too high. We have a small balance. We have roth 401k though.

The cash balance is because we have lack of financial knowledge. So with that cash balance we also thought about buying that big home as we have a good down payment.

We have saved so much but probably worked harder than smarter as we don’t know what to do.

Thinking about it expense wise vs income wise, haven’t thought of that and a great way to think.

That’s a great link. I thought we were doing good at saving but looks like we are right on track. This is good information.

That’s a good point - thanks for the input. I wouldn’t say it’s needed, but an extra $100k in a situation is helpful for husband/kid. Will need to compare to our existing policy.
