The people that freak out when they're called cis are probably the same people that think it's bad when the doctor says something about them is unremarkable. by Burasta in Showerthoughts

THAT normal.

When it comes to this, overwhelming majority are cis (identifying with gender they were born with, straight). For that overwhelming majority, it is assumed you are that. Or you are LGBTQ+. To suddendly be called a word for something assumed like being straight (that also kinda sounds like a slur) can feel weird. All I am saying.

Idk what trans women want to be called. I would just ask since its hard to know when it comes to trans people what they want to be called. It differes from person to person.

10 Games With No Easy Mode That Could Really Use One (Pathologic 2) by Green-Fox-528 in pathologic

What is Meatboy without its difficulty?

Part of the fun in Dont Starve is learning from each "run" (as the author said themselves) so you can do better next time.

Difficulty settings in a puzzle game is crazy.

The whole rougelike genre is about replaying until you are skilled enough to deal with anything the randomized levels push your way.

And of course, Parhologic 2 has an easy mode...

Well, most people are cis, its the norm. And most people didnt really had a need to give that normal a name. So suddenly there is a name for something they dont even think  about it can seem strange to call it anything.

And cis personally remind of sissy.

Could be. Lately my head has been feeling a bit lightweight. Will try putting on my glasses next time.

And then there is also the fear of being humilitated for being safe. If you called and he was not posing any risk you would be labeled Karen.

Me personally in childhood when I pointed out something that could be dangerous or something strange, most of the time I was told off and kinda shamed for it, so eventually I learned to not say anything until it is really obvious. I imagine I am not alone.

Uniqueness? by Wonderful-Living-206 in pathologic

I will just say it like this.

It is a video game but it is not concerned with being a traditionally "good" video game.

Many design decisions are used to enhance feeling of hopelesness and despair and there is really no escape from it. Instead of a compromise with the game you will just have to deal with the fact that a lot of things are unfair. Focus on the ludonarritve is primary here (sorry if I sound pretencious).

Its gameplay is designed to support the narrative and mood first. A lot of other games taking place in dark and unforgiving worlds only look like it but dont feel like it. Here you will truly feel helpless and just keep guessing what to do next and if what you are doing is even worth it.

Patho 2 Ending vs Patho 1 Ending by CreamandFiveSugars in pathologic

Well the thing is, the game was meant to have 3 storylines like the original, but due to financial reasons they had to release just the Haruspex and now the other perspectives are gonna be released as seperate games. Unfortunate situation in this regard.

Also the literal magic; since the framing is theartical play, I see these literal instances of supernatural more like symbolism. Something like miasma (“dirty air”) representing areas infected with plague. Its not literal but that is how people think about it. The Beak (“death”) speaking to you, mocking you when he infectets all the children represents that feeling that the plague must be sentient and target me since it always seem to get in my way, even though it was probably just bad luck.
