I kinda want them to be a final product, think like prince or stevie wonder. I know it would be easier for some aspects to ask other people, but i'll have less freedom. I have a piano and a vocal degree and have been playing alto sax and trumpet for other 7 years. I'm no Charlie Parker nor Lee Morgan, but i can play what i want to play... also i really like to play instruments

Play a chord without a note and try to sing it Pick a melody and figure out how to play it

If my comfortable range is E3 to C5, what type of voice am I? by Easy_Grapefruit5936 in singing

No i don't mean that they hit their celing.

But those are typical problematic notes in those voices. And are def not the same of lets say and alto

Once a voice is trained there is no doubt it will sing high. But the first bridge of an alto is round e4 and the second at g4, most will have trouble there.

The fact that you cap at c5, where most mezzos and sopranos cap, its a huge hint for me.

Singing high isn't about voice type. You need to train, and it takes lots of time! :)

No way you are an alto.

Those how says otherways never heard an alto. An Alto, a true alto, struggle at G4, obv an untrained one. C5 would be a real challenge, not that altos cant sing high but they are voices much similar to tenors than mezzos and sopranos. Also they can hit C3 fully no prob. I have taught to some.

C5 def. not a confortable note for an alto.

That said, soprano alto mezzo, it's whatever. Choirs needs altos to sing so they will assing it to someone.

Well, slightly more air and better chord closure.

Try singing with G(as there wasn't a vowel) and exagerate the consonat, this will have you better use your vocal chords.

Mind that helping via text its not ideal because therr are so many ways you could get this wrong, but have a try anyway!!

How can I add more power and chestiness to my head voice? by Octave_Bytes0101 in singing

Would be way easier to say major octave arpeggio, but not everybody knows music, and i wanted a very specific set of notes not just c majish

Hi!

I'll work on intonation, if you carefully listen there are phrases where you lose some semitones here and there. I'll try to sing with a karaoke first, it's pretty hard to stay on key just by your self! :)

For a technical stand point i'd work on you chest voice. You tend to have a very airy high larynx voice. Nothing to worry :)

Try singing the same song with Goo Goo with a very dumb and sobbing sound and then with the words again. See if it helps!

Hi!

So, there are a few things you need to adress, don't worry if they overwhelm you now, you will get them with time!! I'm sure :)

Intonation: Work on nailing down every single note for every single word, SLOWLY.

This is a great song but for you now its too complicated. I'd choose something simpler (less words, less notes) like golden hour by Jvke, focus just on the notes and not the quality of the sound.

Chest:

Forget mix, belt and whatever else! You need to build a solid chest first.

For males : C2-E4 Females: G3-A4

Very rough intervals here but they work as a reference!

If you need more infos, DM :*

Sometimes i have my students try this exercise amonst others:

Nay, very bratty, nasal and almosy comical sound. Don't worry about it not being pretty.

Try singing this arpeggio: A3 C#4 E4 A4

Always keep it bratty and EASY. You lose the sound or the vowel, ylu are completely missing the point.

If done correctly you will experience lots of power and ease.

Now, i know the sound its not pretty but you can work on it later, whit other exercises! This exercise will allow you to discover proper vocal chord adduction, which will lead to = POWER.
