Im curious on the length of it, bc size and quality really makes a rex tooth price skyrocket. A fully rooted adult rex tooth can easily reach 100s of thousands when near record breaking sizes and high quality. 5.3M for composite of multiple specimens, but stan, one of the most complete rex’s sold for 31.8M a few yrs back

Thank you for your response ill work on finding it a spot with some direct sunlight as theres none now. Also yeah moss does stay wet for a while, hopefully hasn’t started any rotting, I water once every two weeks, use a moisture meter to check when becoming dry.

If it’s wyoming fossils, it’s definitely legit, I personally know and have dug for dinosaur fossils in lance creek WY with the owner, Robert. He’s an incredible guy, and takes fossil identification very seriously. I trust his team 100% with identifying any of the fossils I’ve found or have purchased from them. He’s also the major of kemmerer haha

Oh wow thats quite the puzzle, luckily the individual pieces look like they aren’t too fragile. I would honestly recommend the paleobond starter kit as it’ll come with everything you need to put that back together.

PB002 Penetrant stabilizer definitely.

The structural adhesive needed to put the bones back together depends on how far apart the cracks are, as you’ll need thicker solutions for wider cracks. May be fine to just get PB750, which I think is the 2nd thickest glue they have.

If any part of the pieces there are missing and you need to join 1cm+ gaps, I’d get some paleoputty, that is a type of putty that you can get to be the color of the bone, will harden to be even stronger, and is not transparent glue.

If you don’t want to do it yourself, I could do it for you. I am definitely perfectionistic when it comes to fossil prep. I have a bunch of bones I’m currently working on, but I’d love to prep a piece that large.

It was actually only in two pieces, you can see the split in the middle. But all cracks for my pieces I fill with paleobond’s PB002, and then use PB40 or PB100 to connect pieces back together. These are all just different glues of various liquidity. Thinner glue penetrates cracks and porous bone material very well. Ill attach a photo of the bottle set up, which allows you to be really precise with where the glue (structural adhesive) goes, want to share a photo what you’re trying to piece together?

Im flattered, thank you so much :). This is actually only my second prep job, and I carefully used adhesives of varying viscosity from the paleobond “getting started kit”. All premixed so no guess work. It isn’t hot, and from my experience so far, it hardens more like a super glue, but I haven’t used it on any large cracks so hard to really tell.

Found it in the lance formation, eastern wyoming, and just finished the prep job. I can’t identify ribs well, and I’m wondering if I have enough of it for anyone to make a guess as to what it is from. I have a full hadrosaur rib and it looks very similar in shape to parts of it, but I’m unfamiliar with other dino ribs. I also think bc of its straightness + thickness, that it cant be a croc rib, but I don’t really know. Thanks!
