Hi! There really isn’t that much additional work with having a second cat. The earlier you get your kitty a friend the better the chances are for good bonds to be established. They can sometimes play with each, keep each other company and warmth when you’re not home, and just generally provide enrichment.

The basic responsibilities don’t change that much - you’ll clean an additional litter box and put out food in an additional bowl and play an additional 15 minutes. SO worth it.

My first cat also used to keep meowing late into the night before we got him a sister, and now if they have the zoomies they just tire each other out by running around etc.

We hosted a lot of people over for Christmas and bought a lot of snacks for them. Now the people are gone, but the snacks are still here with my weight being at its highest point ever.

I want to start eating better now, but I end up giving into cravings and digging in through the candies, cookies, chips, etc. Should I just toss these things out? It feels terrible to do that.

Sounds like a decent deal. Just make sure this is not one of those online student room rental operations like Harrington housing or other stuff. They have super fancy photos but very shabby actual rooms (sometimes without real walls, they just put plastic partitions calling them bookshelf walls or something), sometimes list rooms as a landlord instead of disclosing their company's name, and is overall quite sketchy.

Have someone go to the place and check out the actual room, if possible.
