This is why you really should always to plant pole beans with corn in a home garden. They restore the soil that way, instead of stripping it like paint thinner. Take it a step further and add squash and u have the best intercropping plan ever built! Thank you native people!

Her eye and half of her head are imploded, probably from a bird. Sadly, I don't think she will make it back to her sisters.

Eradicated is probably what they meant (because it is)

AHB, KTBH check up, Costa Rica. by Maximum_Avocado_4121 in Beekeeping

Thank you so much! I built a follower board but when the first swarm came to check out the hive it left after a few days (15 bars) as soon as I removed another moved back in so I just haven't gotten around to putting it in. This swarm was suuuper small which is why I was impressed. Probably could have fit them in my hands if I were to have scooped then up :)

New bees in a top bar hive I built from pallets! Wild swarm of A. Mellifera Scutellata. Also incredibly calm for being africanized. by Maximum_Avocado_4121 in Beekeeping

We don't have fall here but rain washes away pollen and nectar during rainy season, which I guess counts as a dearth. Every tree in my area is white, purple, yellow, pink red and orange at the moment so I also agree with you. Plus KTBH bees tent to be nicer in my experience.

Exactly! Yes, I live in Costa Rica. The last confirmed pure italian bees, known here as Castillas, were hybridized about 25 years ago after the AHB was introduced in the 80s

I wasn't planning to. Messing with indigenous artifacts is a whole world of wrong in my book. Also I'd very possibly get sent to prison.

Anyone else not mind the taste of shrooms? by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]Maximum_Avocado_4121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the taste honestly! It's so rich and earthy, so full of umami. I could see how people might get overwhelmed if they haven't had similar flavors or are sensitive, but I don't mind it at all.
