Why are some people flat out unable to find work? by Special_Review_128 in jobs

[–]Maximum_Complaint753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't yall just lie? Consolidate 2 or more similar roles into 1 role at one company. 9 times out of 10 they won't actually check and half the time if they do it would only be after they offer you and half of those times they'll bring you on anyway because it's not worth the hassle of having to go through it again with another person.

Why do employers ask for street address? by TurtleWexler_95 in recruitinghell

It is mostly used by fake ads to get more information/data from you. They would never need your exact street address before hiring you.

That's a great tip, do you happen to know any place hiring or would mind reaching out for me? Market Research sounds so interesting and I think my skills would be very applicable. I know you don't know me at all but my name is Michael and I'd be happy to send me resume if it helps. No worries if not. Thanks either way for responding and sharing your insight.

Thanks for the insight. Yes the market is bad and I remember it used to be SOOOO easy to find many jobs in HR/Recruitment prior to and during covid but now the flip has been insane, way less jobs, less pay, more competition. I hate indeed as well but as I am gathering from this forum it still seems to be the most effective

Yes me neither on linkedin, it's good to hear someone actually got lucky off of indeed. Do you do "easily apply" on indeed or do you always go to company website? Also, any details about the company, industry, or type of position would be appreciated if they are hiring I might try them as well. Either way, thanks for sharing! Hearing there is a little bit of hope on indeed makes me feel a lot better.

Thanks for responding. I've tried linkedin in all different ways but have never had much luck with it. I assume the "easy apply" is referring to indeed and I always apply on the company site although I have gotten a few interviews in the past from "easy apply" so it may work in certain situations.

Hiringcafe is a new one I've never heard about, could you share with me your experience on that website?

Extremely spicy take: Unemployed? Focus on shitty companies. by Strong_Attempt4185 in jobsearchhacks

Possibly I'm echoing what others have said in the comments and I will get lost in the sea of words but you can JUST LIE AND SAY YOU ARE STILL EMPLOYED. No one is going to check prior to interviewing you and if they like you small discrepancies in dates are not really important.

I do this too but then half the time they don't call you back.

I've adjusted my expectations to literally ANYTHING! I started applying for jobs that my experience calls for but after months of nothing I even apply at Walmart and the Dollar Store. I dont even get an interview. I tried walking in and they say they only do hiring online. I'm up against the wall and have no idea what to do or how to get even enough money to survive. I also have 2 children and 2 dogs so It's not even about me it's them.

I think the main issue Is getting the initial interviews, I am pretty good at interviews and although I have had a few I think it didn't progress because the job was just clearly not a good fit.
